In regards to the Hunting Reports forum at http://www.africahunting.com/community/hunting-reports/.

I am sucker for a long read with plenty of pictures and after reading some comments on the now defunct Reviews section I was wondering what can be done to encourage those folks who don't really have time or are just not inclined to become literary wonders in this life time.

What should a simple review include?
Country
Dates
Type of Hunt (Plains Game, Big Game, Cull, Bird...)
Method of Hunting (Rifle, Bow, Handgun…)
Outfitter
PH
Agent
Locations Hunted
Species Hunted
Trophy Quality
Species Seen, Population and Quality of Game Observed
Lodging
Food
Activities
Travel Methods

High Points
Low Points
Things to Improve
Overall Rating
Would Recommend to a Friend?

(Just so everyone knows, J slipped in here and added to the list so you can blame him to. ) :)

I think the species hunted/seen should include the zoological Latin name......;)

Sorry Wayne, Mike made me say that. Actually I think your list looks good and should be made a sticky so that folks can refer to it.

I already made it a sticky… I think that BRICKBURN made a great framework for people to leave a quick review with all of the important points!

I'm sure if we flub our latin Mike will be on top of it! :P Judge:

o_O wayne i am glad you think that list is simple ........:E Crazy Eyes: ;)

When compared to Wayne's "picking an outfitter" spreadsheets that list IS simple!!! :)

About the only thing I'd suggest to add is "region" along with country.

It's nice having friends......:K Moon:

That list is way shorter than the 10 page reports that I write up. It's all relative.:E Shocked:

Species Hunted - Egyptian Goose
Species Seen, Population and Quality of Game Observed - Carp, Cat Fish, Eel, Other Eqyptian Geese.....

You see, with the zoological Latin names, that report sounds so much better!

So for reviews there is no pictures...

Wel, Wayne that should get you a fat goose and no one would know the difference.

now marius i hope he is going to take it on the wing with his bow??? :sneaky::D

Marius, you have to have the video rolling for this.

I just completed my online USFWS 3-177 form to clear my trophies from my July 2014 safari and I needed Genus species and common name for each species, so Phoenix Phil is just helping the hunters get a step up on their future paperwork!

You see @BRICKBURN you thought I was being a smartass, I cannot imagine why!

I think a review section is a great idea, even if you do a report it still adds to it. People like me are not really great at telling a story so it would help!

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
