SOUTH AFRICA: HENRY GRIFFITHS SAFARIS

I’m a little late getting to this. I took my first trip to South Africa this year after doing my research more than 15 years ago. We were with @HENRY GRIFFITHS SAFARIS from July 7until the 19th. And I couldn’t recommend him enough and just started planning my next trip with him.

We flew from Atlanta non-stop to Johannesburg. We arrived late so we stayed at the Afton Safari Lodge the first night which I would also recommend.

He picked us up the following morning and we drove to the lodge with a few stops along the way. We shot a rifle when we arrived and all was good.

The next morning we started hunting, and what a time we had. Over the next several days we collected: blue wildebeest, 2x springbuck, blesbok, red hartebeest. Impala, black wildebeest, waterbuck, kudu and zebra. Then we capped the trip off with a trip to Pilanesburg park for some wildlife viewing.

Accommodations were great. Staff was wonderful and the meals were delicious and plentiful. I highly suggest anyone go with Henry for the first or 20th South African hunt.

Thanks. It was really a very fine hunt. Focused entirely on buffalo. As you show with your photos, he has lots of other nice critters too.

Henry, is a top bloke is he still recoil shy and not pulled a trigger yet on a bigger canon than the 375 Ruger?

I think he just likes walking around with that light Ruger. He was talking about building a .404.

Thanks very much. We looked over a lot of buff to find an old one, but Henry picked him out of a bunch of younger bulls. Several other old bulls were seen but for one reason or another we couldn't close. He also has a bunch of younger bulls that are going to be absolutely fantastic in a couple of years.
