John Bolton was arguing for just such action in the first Trump administration and up until about 24 hours ago was still being ridiculed by the America First MAGA movement as an establishment, regime change demanding warmonger. :E Shrug: Just saying.

Ah, but that was before Trump endorsed the idea through execution. The lack of critical thinking skills on the far right and left is almost beyond belief. Like a bunch of sheep waiting to be told what to think.

I would argue that Bolton, was just stating what most of us that remember the Iran revolution and Carter not taking care of business then. Better late than never.

Frankly, if FDR would have let Payton take care of business in WW2, the world would have been a better place too.

@Red Leg did you see the video footage of the free falling missile in Doha
Wasn't much of an explosion. Probably a Shahad drone. Not sure your point. I would love to see the numbers, but counting drones, I would guess they have flung several hundred projectiles in what has been thus far a fruitless temper tantrum that has only served to unite the Gulf States against them. Perhaps we'll know in the future, but if Ukraine is any indicator, I would wager a meaningful sum over 90% have been successfully intercepted without collateral damage.

I’m mostly interested in the impact of Chinas shrinking oil supply… assuming the US or Israel hammers the oil infrastructure and ports to the point of shutdown… between losing the Iran supply and the Venezuela supply… things might get a bit interesting in Beijing soon.

I agree, but given our ability to shred their military assets, is there any real need to attack their energy infrastructure? That seems like something you would do if you felt that you were in a protracted fight. If we believe that we can topple them in two weeks, would we not be better served leaving the oil infrastructure in place?

Much fear of a soaring oil price now..but I doubt that Iran will be able to block the strait of Hormuz..mine laying and missiles on US Navy and oil tankers.

Trump says he will go after Iran´s naval assets and ballistic missile launch sites..

Let us hope Israel-USA etc. crush the Iran regime once and for all..

If the odd russian or chinese war ship stand in the way, I say blow them out of the water..
I thought Navyless Ukraine already sunk all of Russia’s ships in the Black Sea sometime ago? LOL

I agree… I’d prefer we take out the IRGC as the biggest priority… if the Iranian people want a regime change, that’s the only way that happens…

But as I understand it, key oil facilities have already been hit… and Israel is claiming they’re going to launch an additional 500 sorties in the next 24 hours… between those sorties and ours I can’t imagine that more oil isn’t going to get hit.. Kharg Island in particular has supposedly been hit hard….

I don’t know if that’s an intentional kick to Chinas balls (the biggest buyer of Iran oil).. or if there is some other strategic value (assume no regime change… that would certainly set Irans nuclear ambitions and ability to continue to fund global terrorism back for years)…

But it’s definitely already happening…

Just told my wife the exact same thing. Excellent analogy.

Volcanos are more virgin sacrifice territory, we’re not trying to make it rain or the crops come in strong so I think frozen lake is the way to go.
It’s called multi tasking pal. No reason your personal grudge can’t also feed the village. ;)

Think of it like shooting an elephant you have a personal beef with. :D

All the Democrats and world leaders who are criticizing Trump for attacking Iran, should watch the videos of the Iranian people celebrating in the streets.
Of course, the Iranian people were dancing in the streets when the they overthrew the "American Shah" and brought in the Ayatollah. Then they were dancing in the streets again when it was announced that a mighty blow was struck against "The Great Satan" (us) on 9/11. I'm having a hard time caring about what makes the Iranian people happy.

I think that was just the radical sector of the populace

If the Iranians will not achieve regime change, then I think they are open to other means of bringing them down more than a notch or two. They are VERY vulnerable to water supply issues, and food import, as well as ending their oil money by destroying all fueling facilities.
Eastern Europe better put a plan in place for all the muslim refugees that are going to want to flood in after any number of regional failures....
Thinning the herd in certain areas is not so deplorable when you consider they have the hostility of a scorpion. Not just "don't let them have a nuclear bomb," but maybe also, don't let them be a world player. Not sorry. they have killed too many.

Maybe. I met a very charming younger Iranian woman while we were waiting for a ferry. She told me that she and her husband had come to the US and were wanting to see Iran "liberated" for the Iranian people. I liked her a lot. On the other hand, when I went to college in the early 1970s there were many Iranian students going to the same school. They posted many flyers and most of them wore the metal pins that said, "Death to the American Shah." As guests of this country I thought their behavior was very rude and I didn't see any of the other Muslim students standing up to the "radical" students.

If Iran.is actually liberated I will be very surprised if we hear any words of gratitude from the Iranian people. I'm okay with that. I'm just happy knowing that the Ayatollahs cannot fire off a nuke, and knowing that Hamas will be hamstrung by the crippling of Iran. No money, no missiles, should mean no raids into Israel.

I have an Iranian acquaintance who fled Persia with his family when Khomeini came to power. He told me that there were far more dead demonstrators than the figure of 30,000 (unimaginable) that is bandied about. Snipers preferred to shoot women who were not wearing headscarves. Thanks to Chinese facial recognition software, the henchmen knock on doors and take suspects away, or shoot them right at the door. Depending on the “severity” of their offense.

Americans, your president should keep on it and clean up.
