Hello everyone, it was suggested I join the forum to gain some grounding on the subject and hopefully strike up some contacts before embarking on a hunt in africa.
I suppose you could say I am predominantly a European hunter. I hunt the UKs main species of deer and have hunted over continental Europe for wild boar.
I have been to both Kenya and Tanzania on photographic safaris with my wife which was a great experience and only furthered my enthusiasm to pursue a hunting format next time I went.
I'm looking forward to reading some discussions and learning more.
Many thanks in advance to you all.

Hello VertigoBE, I would ideally like to hunt with the double rifle where possible but as a complete novice this may not be the correct approach to my first hunt in africa.

Hello Jambo, welcome to AH. I live in Zimbabwe and hunt with a double rifle, but yet to get really on top of it. It is the way to go I think.

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,
Gary (Just down the road in Springfield)

Forgive me if this is the incorrect area, I signed up to this forum just now because I wanted to be on the list to purchase a copy of your autobiography. Please feel free to pass my information along to whomever is selling. Thank you so much. I look forward to it!
I like the Tillie in my picture. They are supposed to fit loose (2 fingers inside hat band), have mesh for cooling, and hold their shape after washing.
