I'm a medically retired Army Pilot who lives in Northern Wisconsin. Now that I have more time in my life I have been spending much of it either hunting or fishing. In addition to various big game animals I also enjoy hunting turkey, and other game birds. I've started looking at hunting various more exotic game and found that it seems less expensive to travel to Africa and hunt them as opposed to visiting a game farm in the states. Not to mention that it's a greater adventure! I'm hoping to learn from the experience of others here and maybe avoid some of the possible mistakes. I'm also starting to learn how to do my own taxidermy and planning on taking some formal classes this winter. With any luck I'll be able to do some of my own mounting as well.

Looking forward to taking my first Safari soon!

Blackhawk!

Greetings Blackhawk,

Thank You for your service to this once very best country to ever have existed.

Khomas Highland Hunting Safaris of Namibia, welcomes you to the greatest forum on earth.

When you get around to it, have a look into the Khomas Safaris web site.

No matter who you book your first African trip with, Khomas or one of the many other excellent ones here in the AH Forum, definitely be sure to do plenty of research before submitting your deposit.

Our fellow best ones here generally have repeat customers, writing happy posts about their experiences with us or whichever other great Safari companies they’ve made great memories with.

These can be found in the “Hunt Reports” section of this incredible Forum.

Best Regards,
Velo Dog.

Giday Blackhawk and welcome to the A H forums.

Welcome BlackHawk. Plenty of people on this site willin f to answer your questions.

Hello and welcome!

Welcome to the site-an excellent place to plan an adventure!

:S Welcome:

Welcome aboard Blackhawk. From one Vet to another, Thank You for your service! Hunting Africa is decidedly cheaper than an exotic game farm in the States. Most African PG hunts can be had for less than the cost of a guided Elk hunt. Once you establish your time frame all you have to do is post your desires and or expectations on AH and you will receive a bunch of offers from vetted Outfitter / Sponsors. BTW what caliber rifles do you currently own? What species are you thinking about hunting?

Welcome to AH BlackHawk! Thank you for your service. Nice to have you join our community, I think that you will enjoy your time here.

Jacques

I currently own a .308 Tikka which I use for game hunting and .556 for 3-gun, I also have various 12 gauge shotguns for birds. I'm currently looking at a .45-70s from Marlin and Henry Rifles but open to caliber suggestions.

Welcome from the tip of the mitt in Michigan

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
