I was planning my first African hunting safari and my internet hopping brought me to this point. This website has been a dreamworld for me and I appreciate all of your input, especially the hunt report section.
I've not hunted outside the USA yet but have done a fair amount of wandering within the states hunting everything from quail to elk. I've never been able to specialize and love shooting rifles, shotguns and my bow and all the offshoots they provide such as hand loading and fly tying.
I am currently a full time firefighter\paramedic and on my off days I provide custom bird taxidermy under the business name: Firebird taxidermy. I've been obsessed with animals as long as I can remember and hope to see and collect my own menagerie while my knees are still strong. My wife tolerates this madness and a couple of my kids participate in it with me although they are still in their teenage years.
One of my favorite trips to this date was in Utah's high uintah mtns, horseback in, camp, hike and fish with some good friends and family and culminating with the taking of a respectable goat. Hope to add many more adventures to the memory bank with many more amazing animals!

Welcome Firebird! Enjoy the forums. (y)

Was just in Ogden for work. Took a little hike up by Willard's peak. Very beautiful area. Welcome to AH!

Hello Firebird, Welcome to a great site. I am also from Utah. I have been to Africa once and can't wait to return. You will not regret going. My once in a lifetime trip just turned into a lot of time spent trying to find a way to get back. I took my two sons we had a fantastic safari. We had the whole trip filmed. Lots of great memories.

Howdy and welcome @Firebird
You've found the best resource there is for planning your first safari! Have fun and take time to enjoy the anticipation (y)
The Uintah mountains are a special place for sure. I've put on many boot miles and drown a lot of flies in those mountains :) I used to call Utah home many years ago.

Welcome to AH Firebird! You're definitely on your way to Africa at this point... :S Welcome:

Welcome to AH sir.

See you are from Denmark - see quite a few Danes where I stalk in Scotland - great hunters.
The Harkilia stuff works well in Africa - I have a bit for use here in UK.
I am again looking for 600 Nitro dies preferably RCBS 1 inch. The set I purchased previously are 1 1/2 inch and do not fit my die. Another member has graciously taken them off my hands. If anyone happens to have a set of 600 Nitro Dies that will fit my Rockchucker Supreme RCBS press, please shoot me a message and thanks in advance for any assistance you may have to offer!
