While I do enjoy a sausage tree, my favourite is finding a mighty old Lead Wood that has lasted through the ages, or a Tamboti with its poisonous reputation, insect proof wood that smells amazing. I have a Monkey Thorn tree bonsai that is the same age as I am. A Marula tree in fruit is also another favourite.

Near Swartwater RSA. In the Lympopo area. The tree is so big you can find it on google earth!

Has to be the acacia - they are everywhere. But, when you run across a baobab you kind of pause and stare at it - they are pretty special.

What about the Teak, built the railways. I was up in the Matetsi & Hwange area was sure good to see the teak trees making a come back.

From a distance, baobab is my vote. It is very unique.
