  • Hey Frederik,

I am in Lydiana, which is near Meyerspark just over the hill from Silverton. Where are you?

I am currently finishing up an academic year. My studies have nothing to do with this industry so I am terminating it after I complete a General BA degree(next year july) in Psychology/Philosophy. I have applied for a .303 BSA so we can expect to hear the results in the next two years (ei tog!).

I need experienced individuals to help me in this industry. I have been a hunter for twenty years but only ever attended a big game hunt once as a camera man (Elephant, Botswana). This does not exclude me from the realm of experienced hunters, but I am effectively inexperienced when it comes to DG/Big 5 hunts. That's where I want the company to be, and I also want to expand expand expand...but i'm not too "trigger happy". I must be diligent about the decisions I make seeing as everything or most of this will start off on a loan basis. Otherwise, after the academic year(which is today) I will be taking steps to 1) Register the company at CIPRO or through an agent; 2) Apply for funding/a loan at the NEF by compiling a comprehensive business plan; 3) Look for/approach potential investors; 4) Gather intel and information (I have been for the last 6 months).

This will take a while to get started up as im sure you are aware, but perserverance will pay off just before the bitter end comes!

If the loan comes through, I would like to purchase a Merkel in .470, and either a .375H&H or a .416Rem in Winchester Safari Express. The only reason I havent done a PH course is because I dont own a rifle yet. I grew up on the Musgrave and the CZ. But I am an M70 Winchester fan (pre 64). And other assets as well, a double cab, but other than that I just need to pay for decent adverting and have to engage in proper networking. Marketing and advertising is an important ingredient in any business and it must not be overlooked. Anyway...

Where do you work etc? What kind of hunting do you like? Tell me about yourself. I grew up in Pta, went to CBC, and grew up hunting on private farms and mostly self-catering lodges. 27 yrs old, studying at Wits and I cant wait to get out of there.

    Keep in touch

    Rohan
    Hi Frederik
I have a game ranch in the Freestate and are moving onto exotic game. Will be offering Barbery in the neer future. If you would like a pricelist give me a shout. I just do hunts with foreign clients and their guides.
I'm a profesiional hunter, outfitter from South Africa and if I dont guide clients I usually am behind them with a video camera.
I spend most of the year outdoors if I'm not marketing or editing.
I love taking wildlife pictures as well and if I have more time I enjoy fishing very much.

Planning is coming together! Just waiting to hear back from a couple outfitters to see what their availability is for this year, if any, and I'll be booking my first African hunt. Fingers crossed I can get one slotted for late August/first couple weeks of September.

Hi, I was wondering where you lived. I am near Auburn. Are the loaded Norma AFrames factory ammunition? Thanks, Richard

Hi James, congratulations on winning a copy of Cries of the Savanna! I appreciate your interest in the book and hope you enjoy it.

I am leaving in an hour for the airport to meet up with my husband for a week so I will mail it as soon as I get home. I am sorry about the poor timing and making you wait.

Anyway, send me your address and I will get it in the mail as soon as I can.

Thanks again for entering!

Sue
