Hell of a story and a finish.
Poton, I just read your latest story. I was shooting in a Pistol Match over the weekend. You certainly ended your career as a professional hunter "with a bang." This was as it should be. Another well told story my friend, but certainly not your last. Your life's story reminds me of one of the principles of a Dale Carnegie class that I took years ago, that being, "when life deals you a bunch of lemons, you make lemonade." I agree with your thoughts that happiness is an internally developed state of mind.
Great story. Its always good to go out with a successful hunt. Thanks for sharing. intertaining as always
Another great story @Major Khan, God has truly watched over you and blessed your life.
Maj Khan, thank you again sir for another beautiful story. Even though it had a sad ending because it was the end of your career, the success of the hunt and the friendship are priceless trophies. Again, thank you for taking us along your wonderful adventures.
That is your "best" Story, Major Kahn.
Heroric and peacefull and "sad" also...
@Major Khan ,
As a young professional hunter in Africa this story hit me hard as I read it.... My biggest fear in life is that I will never be able to hunt again, it is all I know and I just absolutely love my job as a professional hunter!
I cannot even think about living without it!
Thank you for the great and really sad story. You did end your career on the highest note possible and that is something you will forever cherish!
All my best and looking forward to reading more of your posts!
Why thank you so much for your kind words , four five eight . You have a most unique ability to gauge what thoughts go through a man’s mind ... Just by reading a piece of his writing . Your speculation is 100 % correct . I did write this article , with an extremely heavy heart . Nothing feels as gut wrenching , as watching the things which you care about most in this world ... Slowly slip away from you . And you know that you will lose it , any time soon . How ever , you also know that there is nothing which you can do ... To prevent it .
Why thank you so much for your kind words , Tanks .
Of course , it is ( Hopefully ) not my last , my friend ! Just let me get rid of all of these slithering reptilian rascals , from my property . I hope to write another new article for African Hunting Forums , after 3 -4 days ... At the latest .
Why thank you so much for your kind words , Bruce . It is my utmost privilege that you have enjoyed this reminiscence of mine ... So much .
Indeed He has , Mr. Lambart . It might not have seemed like so , at the time . But now that I think about it , after all these years ... Indeed he has .
Why thank you so much for your kind words , PARA45 . Indeed , Dan did end up becoming close friends with both Tobin and I . He would eventually introduce me to A & W in America ... Which would end up becoming my favorite fast food outlet for cheese burgers , chili dogs and root beer .
It is my utmost privilege to know that you have enjoyed this reminiscence of mine ... So much , Bull Hunter .
From 1 professional to another ... I sincerely wish you nothing but the best of luck for your career , Jacques . Being a professional hunter brought me a level of joy ... Which can never be recalled by any thing else on God’s Green Earth . It is truly 1 of the most exciting professions of ALL TIME . I have never stopped missing those days , of mine . And listen carefully to me . Never let Africa ( Or indeed , ANY other country ) fall to vegan socialism , like India has . The fate which befell India , can not be allowed to happen any where else in the world . You do that , and it shall make me most happy . I never want any other sports man on God’s Green Earth ...To have to go through , what we went through ... In 1972 .
Right now , the 3 corners of my house are graced by the only 3 keep sakes of mine ... Of my days as a professional shikaree .
Major Khan, this quote says it all. I am a better man for having met you and others on these pages. This story was very moving. Thank you
It is my utmost privilege that you have enjoyed this reminiscence of mine ... So much , CLS .
