I'm going to an expo tomorrow. Wild Game Safaris, African Barefoot Safaris and Hercules Safaris will be there. I'm looking to book my second trip to Africa for 2018. My past outfitter is no longer offering safaris on his farm or I would go back with him in a heartbeat! He's one of those who lost his land to the government. Does anyone have any experience with these three?

I've heard of one, but have no idea about their operation.
Hope someone can help you out.

I have talked through emails or at a hunting show with all 3 of them at some time. I did not get a bad feeling from any of them but at the time say maybe 3 or 4 years ago they were all charging more then I wanted to spend. I would think you would have a good hunt with any of those 3. What is on your wish list?

If I don't say it, someone else will... why not look at one of the sponsors of this forum? The deals page is loaded and their references can easily be checked.

Red Hartebeest, zebra, gemsbok, another impala and possibly a springbok. I took 2 warthogs, an impala, kudu, nyala, waterbuck and a wildebeest this past summer. My hunt at Melorani was fantastic but he is looking for new concessions as he had to sell his farm to the government. I'm also thinking Namibia. I'm looking at 2018. I'm a bow hunter.

Check them all out. Someone made the effort to come to your home town, I'd check them out too.

I don't personally bowhunt, but did hunt with @Limcroma Safaris last summer. I know they specialize in bowhunting and have lots of properties that are bowhunting-only.

Interesting read:

I've only hunted RSA once, but a had fabulous time with Hotfire Hunting and Fishing Safaris in the Eastern Cape. I would go again in a heartbeat.
(Be advised that the website is very new and the IT persons creating it made some errors, that have yet to rectified.)

I have a great deal of admiration for Ernest Dyason from Spear Safaris. I would look there also.

Those were my top two operators in my search, which was done before I joined this website.

I think that is a significant component of who to go with, especially if they show their face year after year.

I hunted with African Barefoot Safaris in 2013 had a Awesome hunt, Killed 10 animals.
Reon is a bow hunter , his blinds are huge,, sand on the floor , quiet when you move, dark inside.
He will do his best to put you on the animals you want.
You will be the only party in camp. Forrest

If you want, I can suggest an excellent PH in South Africa that can organise everything for you.

Yep the sponsors here are good folks and as mentioned references can be given quickly. I think it important that you speak to people who have hunted with the outfitters so you can ask detailed questions. Good luck picking your next outfitter.

African Barefoot Safaris is my close neighbour, excellent bow hunting. Reon van Tonder. You'll have a good time.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
