Looking forward to learning more about the dark continent and it’s game animals. Sooner at later I’ll get there! Happy to be part of the forum.

Welcome! This is a great place to learn a great deal about Africa. Thanks in advance for your input.

Welcome! I'm sure there is an interesting story that goes with the bear in your avatar.

Welcome!

Welcome to AH Slickshooter! Enjoy exploring the site and learning about hunting in Africa.

Welcome, you picked a great place to start your journey to Africa

Welcome @Slickshooter !

That is one heck of a bear in your avatar!

Welcome aboard Slickshooter. As previously mentioned, AH is the best site on the net to get the information you need to plan an African hunt. Please tell us a little more about yourself as it relates to hunting. things like what have you hunted in the past, what kind and caliber rifles do you own, do you reload. Do you have any specific African species in mind?

Welcome to the forum, great to have another Canuck from same Province join. Lots of real info to be learned on here. Enjoy.

Thank you. I grew up in Southern Alberta and hunted Elk and deer for years. I got the bear bug about 15 years ago and have hunted Kodiak Island for brown and the interior of AK for grizzly as well as many black bears around home here. Two trips to the Yukon for caribou and grizzly. Throw in time spent sheep and most recently mountain goat hunting (again near where I live) and that more or less sums it up. My current rifles include a 6.5x284 Norma, 300RCM and a recently acquired 375 Ruger. And yes I reload everything. Africa is so dam intriguing to me and would love to be able to hunt for Buffalo, Nyala, Oryx and Waterbuck.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
