Hello to owners and members. Thanks you for allowing me to join me. I'm planning for a hunt in S. Africa in about a year, so I will try to soak up as much knowledge as I can. I've been to Africa, but only during my time in the U.S. Military, so there was no possible way to hunt while I was there. I'd like to do a Cape Buffalo hunt. The only dangerous game I've hunted in the U.S. has been very large wild boar, numerous times, Black Bear. I only consider Black Bear "dangerous game" because of their stealthy abilities to track me back. Thanks again for having me,

Welcome aboard Jbylake. First off, thank you for your service. There are lots of Ex-GI(s) here so you should feel right at home. What kind and caliber rifles do you own? Do you reload? Use the "search" function on AH to find old posts on first time Buffalo Hunts. There are a lot of Outfitter / Sponsors of AH that can accommodate you. I strongly suggest using one of them. They get vetted on an almost daily basis and simply cannot afford an unhappy hunter.

Ha..ha.. I live in Boone County. I'm trying to recover from a couple of medical problems, so this year's out of the question, but I'm certainly shooting for 2023. Thanks for the welcome.
