Is Great Northern Guns in Anchorage?
Yes, and I'm glad you caught that, while I still had time to edit/correct my omission in that post.

Reedy, Am I correct in that you would have thought this was primarily a CNBC investor event and are completely surprised of the posts it has generated? I am!WOW!
Cabelas was scheduled to open anew store in Lees Summit, MO in late 2017. Bet that doesn't happen now. This has been rumored to be coming for some time now. The Kansas. City store is so low on inventory going there is not the adventure it once was. I have purchased so many items from that store that I cringe at what I've spent there over the last 13 years. To everyone's point about the uninformed sales staff I have to agree. When you can find someone to help they don't know much. So This will give us three Bass Pro shops in. Kansas City now!
Actually the one thing I do like about Bass Pro is their clothing. It's reasonably priced and good quality, the Red Head stuff. I really like their shorts and shirts.

Maybe it's just me but I've found both to be good and bad depending on what your looking for. Cabelas tends to be better for hunting equipment in general and basspro for fishin stuff. I've never had a problem with either store. Typically if I'm looking for something specialized I'll get it from a specialty retailer anyway. Idk? I tend to like both. I hope this will improve service for both places. Where I live all we have is a gander mountain, talk about crappy service and boobs working there. Holly smokes. There is only 1 guy there at the firearms counter that knows what the hell hes doing. If you can't find what your looking for and he's not there forget it.
wrong kind of boobs. But for good measure. What's wrong with boobs?! Oh wait.......
Occasionally when something like this happens the buyer sees the intrinsic value in the heights once reached by the purchased company. They may then seek to restore those heights to achieve a "boutique" model separated from their own volume based sales model.
That way they retain their existing customer base while building a newer, lower volume, higher value customer base.
But I wouldn't count on it in this case.......
Many of us hold Cabelas Visa cards and have built up points that are redeemable towards store purchases. What will happen to our points? Will the gift cards be honored?
Well at least it's not just the mouth breathers at our Gander Mountain then.My Dealings with Cabelas (at least here in Minnesota) has always been a pleasant Experience and I have always found their employees to be nowledgeable the same can't be said of the local Gander Mountain
