Hello, I am finally in a financial position where I think I can afford my first African Hunt. I would like to have around a 7 day hunt(not set in stone). Although I am in a good financial situation where I can afford to travel and hunt I still need to be budget conscious especially since it’s my first time. I am mainly looking for a package where I could hunt a variety of cheaper Cull animals to get my first taste and then try to target a trophy animal or possibly two(mainly considering a Kudu or Giraffe). Still undecided with who is all coming, I am married and have two young kids that might make the journey and go on a sightseeing safari(if there was a way to arrange that through wherever I hunted that would be preferred) or could possibly just be Me and my father as a non hunter to spectate. Not dead set on where the hunt has to do just reasonably to get to and reasonable prices. If any outfitter or PH has a package that is similar to this or could be made similar to this please private message me! Open on dates, April 2026 would be a choice if it’s not too late for that or could do something later in the year I’m pretty open.

:S Welcome: to AH
There will be some really good sponsor outfitter contacting you. This is a good time of the year to book hunts

Thank you! I have been reading articles on here for years mostly on the rifle sections as I am avid rifle collector who has too many rifles to choose from to bring to Africa now lol.

Please feel free to have a look at this. Extra days and extra species are very easy to add on. Think we can put together what you are looking for!

Hi There,
I’m sending you a private message as I believe I have exactly what you’re looking for.

Dear Noah. We would love to offer you an unforgettable hunting experience at Kalahari Safari in the heart to the Kalahari in Namibia . We are privately owned, where your PH, land owner and outfitter is the same guy. We have 45 000 acres of land, 19 different species. You can have a look at our hunting packages online http://www.kalahari-safari.com to give you an idea of budget and options. All animals shot are trophy animals. We are more than willing to work out a special package for you. We also have a special offer - if you book now for April 2026, you get 25% discount on daily rates. Hope to hear from you. Janneman (info@kalahari-safari.com or +264 812603355) I will gladly answer any questions you may have.

Keep the Kudu trophy and add a Gemsbok instead of a Giraff

Two great places are Game4Africa and Fronteer for first time hunters. You can take five nice animals for $5000

Good day sir,
Here is a nice cull hunt in some beautiful country.

10 Animals, plus day fees, all in for $3950

All the best with your research!

Take Care,

Welcome to the club, deciding which rifles to bring is one of those decisions that are part of the process of getting your feet on the ground in Africa for the first time. There are some great outfitters here on AH that will be able to make your hunt a reality.

What you’re describing is actually a really smart way to do it. A cull + 1–2 trophy combo is perfect for a first hunt. Cull animals let you get comfortable with the pace, the shooting sticks, the terrain, etc., and then you can focus on something special like a kudu once you’ve settled in.
South Africa is probably the easiest/logistically simplest option for a first trip, especially if your wife and kids might come along. A lot of outfitters can arrange photo safaris or sightseeing add-ons, and they’re used to non-hunting observers.

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
