Regarding whether or not Trump and Vance give a fuck about Europe.. I'd ask you, when was the last time any European leader gave a fuck about the US (other than its money and its security)..

Countries SHOULD put their own interests first... theres nothing wrong with being "friends".. but there is something absolutely wrong with prioritizing others over the citizens you are sworn to serve..

AND... Many NON NATO states sent troops to Afghanistan.. Australia is NOT a member of NATO.. neither is Georgia.. Sweden was NOT a member of NATO at the time.. New Zealand is NOT a member of NATO.. neither is Jordan, South Korea, Japan or the UAE... they all sent troops..

Guess who else is NOT a member of NATO that assisted ISAF in Afghanistan..... RUSSIA.. thats who..

Russia provided logistical support and transit routes to ISAF forces..

the WORLD had an interest in ridding itself of Bin Laden and Al Queda.. perhaps you forgot about the 2007 Copenhagen plot that was foiled? Al Queda didnt care much for ANY western society.. whether US, Danish, German, French, British, Australian.. or even RUSSIAN..

The US led the charge.. there is no doubt about that..

the point of the post was simple.. Denmark sent troops because it was in Denmarks interest to send troops.. the result of Denmark sending troops was that they lost 44 of them.. the equation is that simple.. Denmark wasnt doing the US a favor.. it was acting in its best strategic interest.. as ALL nations always should..

your comment about trust in NATO toward the US actually makes my point even better..

who cares if NATO exists or not? countries will always act in their own self interest.. Japan is not in NATO.. it was in their interest to participate in Afghanistan, so they did..

NATO exists because the member states believe its in their interest to belong to the alliance.. at the point a country decides it is no longer in their interest to belong to the alliance, they will leave..

whether I "like" something or not has nothing to do with anything... whether I like US foreign policy or you like US foreign policy.. or we both hate it is absolutely inconsequential.. whether the Prime Minister of any EU nation likes it or not is of no consequence.. like is a "feeling".. it literally doesnt even rate as an "emotion".. and feelings have no place in strategic decisions..

Things were very similar in the US for a long time.. they still are the same to some degree.. but things are changing..

Everything the left doesnt like is "racist" or "nazi".. hell, as recently as this week a leftist leader in NYC proclaimed that owning a home is racist..

For a very long time people worried about what they were called, or how they would be perceived if they went against the grain of the establishment.. so they sat silently and allowed the establishment to go off the rails..

we are finally seeing some push back on that in the US.. I for one am glad of it..

if something is genuinely racist or nazi, then we should not tolerate it and we should do something about it..

but if someone believes EVERYTHING is racist or nazi.. then most likely almost NOTHING actually is..

I have many European friends... most of my European friends from Western Europe I find to be slightly less conservative fiscally than my American friends, and a maybe just a bit more liberal socially than most of my American friends.. but overall we're pretty close..

Most of my European friends from Central and Eastern Europe however tend to be at least as socially conservative as my American friends, and actually a good bit more conservative fiscally than most of my American friends.. over all most of them tend to be more conservative than the Americans I spend much of my time around..

The Marine Corps sent me boys, basically trained. When they got to me they are idiots. It was my job to train them, according to orders, into something useful. And this was all done with a compass, map, and a set of bino’s.

Discipline is what sets aside a unit that is prepared for the inevitable combat they should be trained for and the rest of the lot. An idiot private can feel out what orders they think are orders they’re going to follow in the civilian world. Let’s see how that works out…

That is because you do not understand the complex European political spectrum and how things work here. We do not have a two party system. Everything is worked out in the shadows and by conflicting interests, businesses.

Most of the population is fed up with politics and want change. In most countries almost three quarters is against immigration but the governments are not listening.

In several countries parties are banned or there is a cordon sanitaire. Change will come but is it already too late is the question.
