Never seen such as this and must admit I like it, a lot!

Fascinating. That is really something and great craftsmanship. Quite ingenious. Beautiful wood, too. I couldn't find anything about pricing.

Probably more than a normal double I should think.

Attended Jagd und Hund outdoor show in Dortmund, Germany for a couple of years, and that was the first place where I saw the double, bolt action rifle. The model they had on display was a .375H&H with gold inlays and engraving.
You could buy it off the show floor for, if my memory serves me correctly, 285,000 Euros.

Did not like the wood, so I passed.:ROFLMAO:

What an interesting concept. Beyond my means, but maybe there are some AH members that could think twice about purchasing it.

Nearly 13 and a half pounds before all that ammunition? Probably ought to sell a gun carriage to go with it. I have yet to see one of these goofy things where the gunmaker has solved selective ejection. Looks like this will also launch both rounds whether one or two are fired. Moreover, it is obviously designed to eject left and right - how the devil is it supposed to do that with the scope in place?!? A ridiculous, expensive, heavy, and seriously flawed toy. I'd pass even if I didn't have to ask the price.

Me too. Amazing engineering. So I asked my PH mate in Zim about them. He says he knows about these rifles but they're only a gimmick, and, a piece of crap.

Reminds of the double barrel 1911 pistols. Gimmicky, but cool nonetheless.

If I remember right the double barrel 1911 fired both barrels at one time, a true gimmick.

This rifle is truly a classic bolt action. While it may look like a gimmick but it functions as a true double should plus you have a bolt action to clear the empties or unfired rounds.

While it is $84,000 out of my price range I can see where those that can afford it just might buy one. I think one in the smaller calibers would be fun to take out on a hunt.

Please pardon me for yawning.

No it doesn't. It is nothing like a "true" double. It ejects both rounds whether fired or not. No double does that. Nor does anyone who has ever used one want a double to do that. Secondly, the bolt face clearly indicates it ejects left and right simultaneously. That means it jams when the scope is in place. Don't know about you, but dismounting the scope before ejecting a round is not like a "true" double, and could be a little embarrassing if what you shot takes umbrage with the first round or two. Finally, it is outlandishly heavy for a .416. With a full load of ammo and scope attached it will be pushing 17 even 18 pounds in weight! Who in their right mind wants to drag around a .416 weighing that much. This is a ludicrous solution to a nonexistent problem. I can't imagine anyone who has ever owned a double wanting anything to do with this mousetrap.

This rifle is answering questions that should not have been asked.
Except how to pay for it...

If I was rich, I’d buy it for another toy

If the scope with sufficient eye relief is mounted on front bridge forward-wise, it may solve any eventual ejection problems related to scope, under condition there are ejection problems to begin with

For double ejection, for me is hard to foresee such problems, especially if scope is mounted in front of ejection port, and if the function is like this:
first triger - first barrel is off, second trigger, second barrel is off. Eject both casing.

For me it is hard to imagine that a rifle at this price level is being sold, with such problems, without being thoroughly hard tested by maker for all basic functions. High paying clientele expects flawless operation.

This includes testing to simultaneous discharges from both barrels.
Also I dont think that for simultaneous discharge double rifles are cured from.
It reminds me of Ruarks story from Horn of the hunter: When he fired both barrels from .470, fell over, just like the buff on the receiving end, and commented by Selby, after few moments, that the one of them-two is at least ought to get up...

Okey, Ruark is one anthological, most famous, most notable example , but I am sure there were other cases less recorded in history of double rifles.

Long walks and stalks, with rifle of this weight, is another point. It should go with each ones personal choice. It will make you sweat and suffer, eventual buyer should be aware of this, but at least will reduce recoil.

Purchasing this rifle, without considering weight implication is not serious.

We all have our vision, or concept how the hunting rifle should look like or function on standard designs, and this one is breaking te standard concept. It should be either (bitterly ) swallowed somehow, or the oposite. definitely it is not average concept. Good example of rifle either to love or to hate.

Personally being traditionalist, I have taste for classic style hunting rifles (either bolt actions or doubles), so this one does not appeal to me, but at least I am sharing some thoughts.

We will never know really, until someone tries it, test at field, and give us some feedback.
