Been hunting for a few years now, mostly dove, rabbit, and wild turkey. Big game is tough in San Diego. I've always fantasized about the great African safari though. Been lurking here for a while and enjoy all of the information people share here.

Definitely harder. Most serious hunters go out of state these days. I don't even hunt dove here, I go to Yuma, AZ.

The East County can get up to 114 on rare occasions but it's no 120 so you guys in Phoenix have us beat.

I'm planning my escape from CA to somewhere with better sporting opportunities anyway. Maybe some snow too. I've heard that that's a thing .

Welcome. Yes hunting is not so great in Ca but that is one reason we head to Africa...............and other states

Welcome aboard Rocked and Loaded. How far is Amarillo, TX from you? Texas has a lot of wild hogs that most consider varmints. There is no closed season for them. One of the sponsors i.e. Gizmo has a ranch stocked with native as well as African animals. The name of his operation is the Rocking G Ranch. Google it to see if that might work for a way to "wet your whistle."
