Mike from Lacona, Iowa. Just booked a Namibia safari with Ozondjahe; at age 67, I've dreamed of this for over 50 years! July 23 through August 4, 2022. My wife will join me. Our kids and grand kids in Florida and Alaska can't believe I've "pulled the trigger" on this dream. Gemsbock and Kudu, here we come!

Giday Mike and welcome to the A H forums. Congratulation of booking your first hunt.

Hello and welcome!

Good deal. I lived in Albia, Iowa for over 20 years. I miss those big bruiser Whitetails.

Welcome aboard Mike and good luck on your first and hopefully many more hunts in Africa.
Good that you are fulfilling a lifelong dream. I made my first one at age 66, going back for #8 next June. Africa is an addiction with no known cure.

Hello Mike,

Khomas Highland Hunting Safaris of Namibia, welcomes you to the greatest forum on earth.

At age 68 now, I just returned from hunting (Khomas Hochland Wildlife Conservancy) and fishing (Atlantic Ocean) in Namibia.
You will have a wonderful experience in that special country.
If you have questions about what to expect, what shoes to wear, equipment in general, especially rifle, scope, caliber and specific bullet to use, etc., etc., many here, including myself, will be happy to try and answer your inquiries.

Best Regards,
Paul Ard

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
