Welcome! Tell us a little bit about yourself, if you don't mind. I am sure you do some interesting hunts in your beautiful state of Utah.

Welcome to AH, enjoy the site it's addicting.

Welcome to AH Just4fun63! Have you booked your hunt yet? Glad you found us.

Welcome to the dark side, enjoy the planning for your "FIRST" safari it's half the fun. Lots of outfitters here that could help you out.

Welcome aboard Just4fun63, dittos on tell us a little more about yourself. What do you want to hunt in Africa? Have you booked with an outfitter yet? Will you be taking your own rifles? Do you reload? What have you hunted in the past? Do you have any stories and or photos of previous hunting trips?

Welcome to AH !

Thank you all for the replies!
I haven’t booked yet but have researched about 8 outfitters. ( that is until I saw some of the beginner hunts offered on here)
I just retired after 33 years in emergency services. Now I have the time but the $ comes slower.
My current plan is just to book for basic plains game and take my own rifles ( the rifle thing could change)
I guess I want to find a hunt that will give me a chance to feel just a little of what I feel when reading about Africa ( Capstick, Ruark, Hemingway,Roosevelt.....)
I’ve hunted on and off most of my life. Lots of small game and birds. A few trips to Colorado for Elk and deer all DIY.
Very little success, my job schedule just didn’t allow for the planning necessary.

Welcome to AH! Planning is exciting as well. Feel free to let us know if we can be of assistance.

Just4fun63, even though you've looked at outfitters previously, do yourself a favor an take a good look at what the outfitter/sponsors on AH have to offer. These guys get vetted on an almost daily basis. They cannot afford to "talk the talk" they have to "walk the walk." Package PG hunts will give you the most bang for the buck. I'd recommend a 6 animal hunt (some large some small) in 8 to 10 hunting days. This gives you a little time to be "selective." Kudu must definitely be on your list as it is one of Africa's defining animals and will provide the African experience you are looking for.

Welcome to AH!

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
