Hi All.
I have been lurking on this site for months and a member since December. It has taken me 4 months to work up courage to post an introduction:) I am an avid waterfowler and turkey hunter, have not done any large game hunting aside from the yearly deer hunts. That being said, I have great interest(my wife would say obsession) with all things to do with hunting in Africa. I am hoping to someday turn the dream into reality. Thanks for all the great stories/reports so far and look forward to much more!

Hey Dwane, welcome. I'm in Ottawa and as scary as it may sound it is actually less expensive, more exciting and exotic to hunt Africa than Newfoundland. A word of warning, once is never enough

Hi Dwayne, welcome! I'm a newcomer as well. My wife and I have always dreamt of going to Africa; she had visions of boating down the Nile but she readily agreed to my suggestion that we save up for a 12-day South African safari. She'll be coming along as an observer/photographer during the hunt, although I'm doing my best to convince her that she should take an animal of her own. As this will be our trip of a lifetime, we'll be doing the "tourist thing" before and afterwards.
 
Welcome to AH. This site is addicting, you will spend many happy hours here. The African Hinting Bug has already bitten you. Now you just have to wait and let it fester for a while.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
