My good friend Gerhardo Steenekamp, owner of Elansbosch Safaris in the Limpopo, has sent me this picture of a 43 3/8 Eland.

It was shot by a spanish hunter, using a 9.3x62, and should rank in the top five.

That's a nice eland! Brian

That is a big animal. Wonder what a big eland like that weights on the hoof?

That is a very nice eland. I hope I can get one in 2014.

Thanks for posting this.

This guy still had some room to grow if you can fathom that.
He still had brown shoulders (at least from this picture)

Congrats to the successful hunter.

what a whopper....

excellent trophy of an incredibly wary and alert animal , congrats to the team that made that possible for him ....

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
