Hi all, :)

Last week I entered an agreement with an arms dealer in Norway. An agreement that will blacken my wallet for a while. The papers were duly completed and handed police for approval. Application papers relates to a Karl Hauptmann double rifle sidelocks in caliber 475 # 2 NE.
Dear Hauptmann observes via control data that the rifle was adjusted with Kynoch ammunition and 480gr bullets [Eley].
This is my very first double rifle and I'm thrilled with excitement. Can not wait to try this beautiful creature of iron and wood .... Sending some more pictures when all papers come in order ...

Congratulations!

The rifle is a beauty...

More pics and a video of you shooting it would be awesome.

A fine looking rifle sir! Congrats on acquiring it. More pictures when you have time!

Yes welcome to AH Fury!

Lucky man !!

Lovely true sidelock and great gun maker. How difficult will it be for you to obtain .475 #2 ammunition?

Thanks everyone.

Kynoch stock still ammunition 475 # 2 Eley as I can order by a gunsmith in Drangedal. Woodleight have bullets in 483 ", Horneber have brass, Federal has primer and RCBS has die set and press .... think this will be great. (y)

Congrats, very fine rifle!

Hi all.

Brought home the weapon yesterday afternoon. All papers are approved. Double rifle is regulated from the factory with Kynoch 475 # 2 NE 3 1/2 "480gr bullets at 40m. This corresponds with 483" bullets. This was done when the rifle was made in 1960. The previous owner has done nothing but to use regulation of the time. Kynoch stock finished ammunition for this caliber today, but the home charging is more economical.

Sending some photos...

Congratulations Fury,

Your new rifle is a real beauty.
And you are right to presume it was designed for a .483 inch diameter bullet, (because of the regulation bullet weight being 480 grains and the designation of "Ely".)
Also, perhaps your rifle is marked ".483 Bullet" but perhaps not.
Many 475 NE doubles were marked for one or the other bullet diameter and a few were not.

When a .475 No2 NE is regulated and so marked for a 500 grain bullet, the correct ammunition is labeled .475 No2 NE "Jeffery" or "For Jeffery Rifles" or something like that and those use a .488 inch diameter bullet.

I repeat myself, your new rifle is a real beauty.
The joy of hunting in Africa with such a fine double cannot be put into words.
Thank you for posting photos of it, I enjoyed them very much.

Kind regards,
Velo Dog.
