New Double Rifle Owner

I suffered a setback yesterday, Kynoch has not .475 Eley # 2 in stock and can not guarantee when they get it. Have based myself on reloading, but would not mind me some Kynoch shot to curb abstinences to all charging components are in place.

Huntington has Die set, Horneber has sleeves and W has bullets .... To my great surprise, my nearest hunting store have the right gunpowder in stock (y)

Great and beautiful Rifle Fury, Congrats!! (y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

Beautiful rifle Fury! Love the Ele engraving. Sweet deal on the ejectors, you would certainly think the dealer would have confirmed that prior to pricing the rifle. Always nice when a mistake favors the buyer.

Congrats! You'll enjoy it. Double rifles are fun.

I'm going to use loads from Graeme Wright book "Shooting The British Double Rifle (3rd. Edition), and try to regulate the barrels.

The rifle has been regulated with Kynoch ammunition.
Powder: Cordite.
Charge: 85 grains.
Bullet: 480 grains.

According to page 98, I'm going to try out.
Powder: IMR 4831.
Charge: 113 grains with Dacron filler.
Bullet: 480 grains.
Case: Bertram.

Congratulations on a beautiful rifle!

Fury, have you asked AH members for their "loading information" for the rifle you bought. I'll bet some of the guys can help you out, providing you ask them nicely. By the way, that is a beautiful rifle. Good luck on the Buffalo!!

Congrats! Free ejectors! Or put another way, gun worth $4000 more than you thought previously!

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
