I know of not a single military professional whose military expertise I respect who would remotely agree with this nonsense from Trump.

It’s mind boggling to me. His statements are obviously untrue and his position is not in our national interest. I know some think he can do no wrong, but this is an embarrassment.

It boggles the mind why he would undermine Ukraine and embolden Putin by repeatedly saying Ukraine is defeated.

Could Trump be using these statements to have Putin think he is really winning this war, and to continue to deplete his forces? I wonder if Russian generals are not telling Putin the real truth of what is actually happening in the front line for fear to be thrown out of a window.

That is my hope @PARA45. That there is a real strategy. Not simply childish behavior.

The only facts I have to hold on to that hope is Obama and Biden both talked a good political game. But neither fully supported Ukraine either. Of course they didn’t say the silly things Trump does regarding Russia and Putin. But their real actions were the same.

Obama gave MREs and blankets.

Biden seemed to intentionally delay until it was too late. It seemed like never enough and always too late from the Biden administration.

So I go back to thinking that our and our allies intelligence agencies were in all three Presidents ear. Intelligence agencies often have their own agenda. Of course they’re loosely aligned with the nations agenda, but those separate agendas may not intersect for five or ten years down the road.

Many agencies have long-term employees and long-term agendas and strategies. politicians have one or two year cycles and strategies.

As an outsider looking in, I think your President is smarter than everyone gives him credit for. The fact that he puts out stuff that gets everyone focused on some bullshit, then does something different, or follows through with some things, you never know which, keeps everyone on their toes. He does say some crazy stuff, but generally what he does (actions) is for the better of the country he was elected to represent.
You can’t pattern him, so you can’t get an advantage, I think that’s a good thing. The old saying, sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me, comes to mind with him. Yes he does say some bizarre stuff, but I really feel that is necessary to keep people off guard, and he truly thinks America is the greatest country in the world.
Our leader thinks China is the greatest country in the world, and only does things to improve his personal wealth.
Just my opinion, but I wish we had a Donald right now!

Well said, the saddest part of this whole thing to me is, with everything that is going on in the world given our two choices we had in 2024 I would reluctantly vote for Trump again tomorrow if I had to. I was a reluctant Trump voter back then and nothing has changed. I can only imagine what things would look like with a President Harris.
