youve got to get out of Virginia lol..

Texans can not only tell you who the governor of Oklahoma is.. they can tell you the name of their college football coaches, their star players, and can name their mascots..

Not because of any affinity for Oklahoma..

Its largely because of how much they hate them lol...

…and Oklahomans can easily go back a half century to name coaching traitors like Darrel Royal. Or a century and a quarter to name a Texas Governor like Jim Hogg who had the dullard sense to name his daughter Ima. ;)

I thought russian air defences allready proved their worth, or rather lack thereof in Syria, Ukraine and Russia proper?
Lets conclude the following.

As red leg has said, standing bridge in Crimea is maybe saying more about Ukrainian capabilities, then about Russian air defenses. Certainly a valid point, from that perspective!

If that is so, it indicates that proxies have lesser capabilities than main global powers who support them. Whether in quality, or quantity, or re supply chain, or all combined

In recent conflicts of larger scale, there was not a single country with better or worse air defenses which did not get hit. And it was not a single pass through.

I suppose that Syria is the worst case.
But Syria does not have industry, or economy to support military production or purchasing of equipment. Other countries are opposite case. Still, they get hit and they get hit not insignificantly.

Sure I know quite a few doctors and some engineers. I don’t believe you need to go to college to learn any of the jobs you mentioned if your autodidactic. A common concern in the medical profession is that by the time most doctors finish med school most of what they learned is considered outdated so you have to constantly be willing to self study to keep up to date.

Now since you seem to sound condescending let’s examine the part where I said exceptional people.

Albert Einstein dropped out of polytechnic.
Henry ford no formal education in engineering.
Richard Branson one of the greatest entrepreneurs of all time made the virgin group dropped out of school at 16. Seeing as to how he designed air and space companies I’d say he has some knowledge of engineering.

Thomas Edison, Michael dell(dell computer), Ben Franklin, tim berners-lee (created the the worldwide web), there are literally 1000’s of software engineers working or have created the systems that you use that have no degree or formal education.

Now you mentioned civil so let’s see
John roebling built the Brooklyn bridge. Interesting
He had hands on training and no formal education from a university and yet be built a pretty famous bridge.

George Stephenson (father of railways)

Benjamin wright (Erie Canal )
Thomas Telford (colossus of roads)(menai suspension bridge)
Eiffel gustave went to school for art and used hands on experience to build the tower.
Isambard kingdom Brunel ( great eastern ship, great western railway and multiple bridges in Britain. I highly encourage you to pick up a few books from your local library or from online on some of the individuals I named they are quite fascinating
At the risk of being pedantic, I believe you left out Wilbur and Orville.

If I understand the Crime bridge problem its mostly due to the massive gps-interference that the russians are employing in the area, the Storm Shadow/SCALP-cruise missiles are apparently directed by gps. If the Ukrainians had ballistic missiles with enough range I would think that there would be no problem destroying the bridge but since all their cruise missiles (from UK/France) and domestically produced cruise missiles/long range drones are dependant on gps-navigation they cant hit the bridge presently. Apparently the strategic value of the bridge is also greatly diminished as of now since the russians has no Black Sea fleet left/do not dare to venture from port, at least for as long as the ukrainians are not trying to reconquer Crimea itself.

So to be clear I dont think its the allready proven to be inferior russian surface to air defence systems that is the problem.

Considering Australia’s draconian COVID response, a police prosecutor with a Covid citation is a pretty big red flag.

Wonder if you get a medal for running a Bloemfontein or Andersonville.

Maybe The “Mooch’s best interview yet.

Every Knucklehead, sad sac pundit should be forced to watch that interview or read his book.

As we know and apparently CNN does not. Pete Hegseth did not design this operation a month ago. It’s been planned and tweaked for decades by the best and brightest our country has produced. Just as contingent's are planned all across the world.

The clearing of Isis in Syria was the stuff of legends. Hopefully someday. They release more details to the nation on that operation for a more detailed book or movie.

He tipped a few tidbits. That there is zero chance that Iran will be holding the strait in the future.

That, obviously in those long held plans is the strategy of holding Kharg Island as a bargaining chip. He also tipped that it would most likely be the MEU taking and holding it.

Russians also get hit to their fleet (hidden and berthed away) by Ukrainian drones. Regularly.
But lets not forget, Ukraine has no fleet at all. All gone.

The entire battle field changed on land and at coastal waters with appearance of all kinds of (cheap) drones (seaborne and airborne).
And it has two side of coins.

Yes but Ukraine really did not had much if any fleet to begin with and still they have managed to basically defeat the whole of the russian black sea fleet/force the russians to stay in port/move their ships further away from Ukraine.

Good thing we didn't have to use Plan R

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
