I honestly dont think that would be too hard.
It would at least be a very polite fight. But not a hard one.

Personally I think your prime is around 60 or so...

I had to laugh when Gutfeld on Fox made a funny remark about how Trump said that if not for the USA that Europeans would all be speaking German and Japanese. Gutfeld said, “Which really pissed off the French once they had it translated into Arabic

I live in the region occupied by Italian forces, before and during ww2.
Mussolini fascist regime enforced strict Italianization through school, civil administration, laws, businesses and when necessary by lethal force applied on local population.
National languages were banned. To forget language you need two generations, under such laws.
Fascist Italy capitulated after US invasion on Sicily.

We would not be speaking Japanese, though.
About German, who knows.

I am a little curious on Denmark’s position on Greenland. They find themselves in a tremendous negotiating position with the most influential person on the planet. They could change the future of their country dramatically with preferential trade deals, cash infusion, trailing royalties, strengthened military alliances, etc.. At the same time, they could negotiate life changing payoffs to every man, woman and child in Greenland. Do they really love that frozen island that much?

He expressly excluded China from the oil sands because of its critical importance to our trade power.
Nexen, which was a partner in the SAGD Long Lake project was sold to CNOOC in 2012 under Harper. Does SAGD count as oilsands? That can be up for debate, but it’s close enough for me (I’m typing this as I sit at an oilsands plant).

In both my experience and and I would suggest even the briefest appraisal of history, boundaries and funerals bring out the worst in human beings - individuals or nation states. Whether a boundary fence, sovereignty, inheritance, or assassination, people and nations quickly slip into confrontational irrationality.

Its isn`t really about Denmark alone but also the people who lives in Greenland and what they want. The inuits up there knows how the US have treated its indigious people and I guess they don`t want to be overrun. The people of Greenland has two seats in the danish parlament who again have strong political alliances. I doubt they will get two seat in the congress or senate if US takes over.

Regarding Denmark, same thing as UK - Falkland islands. (Except, UK had Navy to send). But same attitude.

In my opinion, EU is in shock, and lost their bearings. Things on daily basis are such, I cannot follow, and I dont know what to expect tommorow.
They find themselves in same positions, I am afraid.

EU, short history decision making:
US stopped weapons aid - EU Agreed to pay the weapons for Ukraine. US will sell.
US announced tariffs, and what not: EU agreed to sign trade deal with US on short notice, some months ago. Buy energy, etc
US asking to increase defense spending: EU Decided to invest in EU defense industry 800 million

Yesterday was Davos meeting, probably not going well: Today, EU decided to invest in various developing programs on Greenland.
Does that sound like a little bit too late?

Where the money comes from?
All Ad hoc decisions, based on daily events.

Big meetings held ad hoc all over EU capitals, on daily basis. like never before, in last year.

It is all going nowhere.

And all those strategic decisions, made in last moment, basically 5 minutes after Washington post, or CNN launch next breaking news. It is reaction to news portals.

Two days ago, nobody was thinking of this, for example.
This is a reaction to whatever was happening in Davos.

I think its funny how both sides the political isle are so entrenched. Like trump was trolling them the whole time pointing out their weakness in greenland and everyones over here losing their minds

Why does everyone act like the indians were some innocent in tune with nature hippie movement?
They were very warlike and got treated like anynother warring nation state with very few exceptions.

I think you are correct but the policy changed after that one.

Because the leftist who dominate the education system in the west are the most self loathing generation yet. Everything must teach that the white man is bad, therefore the red man, brown man, etc., must all be good.

ummm.. the inuits in Alaska have not been treated poorly in a very, very long time..

research Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) 8a...

look at the subsidies they get through the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act...

look at Federal BIA services provided specifically to only Inuit tribes..

look at the Permanent Dividend Fund

the list of both state and federal subsidies provided is EXTENSIVE... and the access the tribes have to federal dollars through various business programs, funds, etc is crazy...

The Chenga Corporation (alaska native corporation) pulled in 1.3B dollars last year.. the overwhelming majority of that work was "direct award", meaning it didnt have to compete for it.. it was just given to them by the federal government.. Alutiq (another ANC) pulled in $830M)... Bowhead (another ANC) got $425M... Artic Slope got $3.7B... Bristol Bay Native got $1.7B... Nana Regional got $1.6B...

There are 182 registered ANC's.. the overwhelming majority will do more than $100M in business this year.. and the overwhelming majority of that business is given to them directly by the federal government.. they dont compete for it...

The US Government flows tons and tons and tons of money into the US inuit tribes.. they are better taken care of than pretty much anyone in the US.. and have been for a very long time..

If astute in their negotiations, there is no reason they couldn’t get the same status as Puerto Rico. As I said above, I suspect a deal could be negotiated that would be life changing economically for all Greenlanders.

I think @RedLeg hit the nail on the head. Rational thinking is not in play here.

I think you are referring to something else but like I wrote. The greenlanders has a voice too to be listen to. Can you understand this?.

Thank you, you beat me to it! As a business leader in Alaska I knew these corporations well. The settlements they received were stunning. Alaska native corps like ASRC have become large multinationals. I knew many of the leaders personally. I don’t think that they would tell you that they have been treated badly.

When Trump spews absolute nonsense like this with respect to the sacrifice NATO troops made in Afghanistan it makes me sick to my stomach. This isn't clever trolling - it is ignorant disrespect. Nearly 500 British troops were killed and more than 2000 were wounded supposedly hiding "behind the front lines." British KIA represented almost 5% of their deployed forces while the approximately 2300 US KIA represented 2.3% of US deployed strength. In other words, deployed British forces were roughly 12% more likely to be KIA than their American counterparts. Trump shames everyone who served there with this ugly sort of stupidity.
