Politics

Spike, I enjoy math. But I love history.

Knowledge of basic history lays a solid foundation for everything else. It gives context to everything.

As your video demonstrates. The politician shown actually thinks certain cultures built America. Unfortunately many politicians are attorneys or doctors, so after they knock down the basic required history credits. It’s largely ignored or never learned. Many have an elementary level of historical knowledge.
So they actually believe for example; that the U.S. invented or was the major player in such things as slavery or land conquest.

Maybe we need a law if you’re going to hold public office and make decisions that impact the rest of us, you need to pass a basic history test.

Starting a Sunday with a terrorist attack targeting Jews.

He has video of the actual shootings and shooters in progress. It's shaping up to be everything we expect it to be. He does warn that some could be AI but it doesn't look like it to me but who knows these days.

So, I voted for this character as a lesser of two evils. But those of you who worship at his feet, tell me is he delusional, demented, or simply clueless? If Biden had said something so devoid of the historical accuracy, this group would have been outraged.

The USA has labelled both Canada and the EU as threats to their "National Security" in order to justify new duties declared by their military Commander-in-Chief on the international trade of steel and aluminum. So I suggest that USA made products such as firearms and ammunition should be sold exclusively within the USA so Canada and Europe can help our esteemed neighbour defend themselves and improve their national security. Sadly, I have come to the conclusion that Canadians and Europeans should make do with their own products exclusively. For all our AfricaHunting friends in Canada, Europe, Africa and elsewhere, please don't buy any American made products. Lets's support the USA in their concern. One can never be too careful when there are evil guys to deal with, and it is our duty to help, as alway
We would gladly buy everything made only in America. Sadly for too many decades we have tried to protect the rest of the world and made Canada and Europe lazy and a nanny state. We have chosen a leader that is bringing us back from the brink of failure to be an independent nation with manufacturing here at home that will keep us strong and independent. Both Canada and Europe havnt realized yet what a failure their social system and other liberal policies have created.

I am a supporter of most of Trumps policies. He’s trying to reverse dozens of catastrophic policies from the past at the same time. He is slowing our decent into mediocrity.

BUT! As I’ve said dozens of times. If Trump could set the policy and then be locked away. Or his mouth locked away. We would all be better for it. AND he would be more successful. I’ve never seen someone step on their own Dick so many times.

Or does he say the dumbest thing he can think of to direct the news cycle away from something he doesn’t like?

Actually not sure which of no1 and no3...or possibly both...don't think he is demented..... :E Shrug: ....this is what pisses me off about him...he does some good stuff then fks it up so badly it's mind blowing......:(

Looks like the islamic terrorist who was disarmed had a shotgun. He went to the bridge to his fellow Islamic terrorist who was armed with a bolt action rifle, where he grabbed another shotgun. Unfortunately you can see a fellow behind the tree was hit once and while trying to retreat was hit again more severely. It appears they were then engaged by law enforcement.

Wonder out of interest what would have happened to the guy who got the gun off the first one, and then if he had shot him?.....would "probably " have been my reaction.....I suppose in Australia same as UK he would have been arrested and charged even though he had stopped him from continuing....

Unfortunately you're probably right. I was hoping he would at least blow his knee off.

If I had taken away the gun, I would have popped a cap. Unfortunately, in OZ, I would be the one behind bars never mind the legal theory of defense of others. Liberal governments don't believe in that theory.

Maybe, but the jury is definitely still out on that whole manufacturing independence thing. Since January 2025 -

From a Google initiated summary:
  • Output/Production: Saw increases early in 2025 (e.g., February) but flattened or slowed later (e.g., flat in September).
  • New Orders & Shipments: Showed significant declines and entered contraction territory by late 2025 (e.g., Philadelphia Fed November report).
  • Employment: Job openings and hiring rates fell, with more firms laying off than hiring, indicating weakness.
  • Sentiment (PMI): The key ISM Manufacturing PMI has declined, signaling contraction (below 50).
  • Investment: While durable goods shipments rose, nondefense capital goods shipments (excluding aircraft) were down, and construction spending in manufacturing decreased.
Or doing one's own research, the Federal Reserve's Industrial Production index for manufacturing (NAICS) has three quarters of 2025 available (next release the end of this month). Calendar year through September shows a net growth of 1.5%.

Even assuming these are lagging indicators, there is little in the manufacturing sector to provide much hope anyone will be feeling anything very positive anytime soon. I should note that the forecast for fourth quarter NAICS maintains the flat to modest growth in manufacturing indicating a full year growth of only 1.2%.

It is another case where Trump's rhetoric and over promising comes into conflict with economic reality. It could well cost the republicans dearly next fall.

Has the US ever fought a peer nation. Not sure Japan qualifies, given then knew they were toast when they failed to catch the fleet in Pearl on day one.

Canada on the other hand didn't show up late for both world wars and had a large role in training US spies and special operations. We also haven't killed tens of millions of people invading countries by mistake, or whatever one calls the Gulf or Tonkin Incident.

The US has been basically robbing the world since 1974. Nice work if you can get it. Not sure it is morally superior to socialism particularly considering the stack of smouldering countries that seem to accumulate to preserve the Petro Dollar.

I don't blame the US as the cost of 80 years of relative peace is hard to calculate or know how it could have been done otherwise. But people aren't going to buy the BS either.

Screenshots from video of one of the shooters...it's a straight pull rifle....but not sure if R8 or other make....
