Politics

The last POTUS to give a sincere SOTU that I can recall was Reagan… since then it’s all been bread and circuses…

POTUS grandstanding for the party and constituents.. telling folks what the people on their side of the aisle want to hear rather than actually advising the American people at large of the actual state of the Union..

I normally watch the SOTU, but I can't listen to anymore of this Commie puppets lies and gaslighting.

The state of the union is painfully on display everyday.
Yeah, I wouldn't watch Brandon's speech even if he delivered it from his local Baskin Robbins while eating an ice cream cone!

Some political comic relief is in order. Can’t help but think this is close to a Biden cabinet meeting…..

BasementBoyBidet is supposed to be talking now- I won't be wasting the electricity as he is not welcome in our home.
We watched a documentary last week on the Three Mile Island disaster. We see President Carter, a trained nuclear engineer, walk into the control room at Three Mile Island when the "hydrogen bubble" brewing in the reactor could have blown the whole thing up at any moment. Then I remember watching "Basement Boy Bidet" with his mask on in his basement during the Covid pandemic calling up, "What's going on up there?". I found a new level of respect for Jimmy Carter.

This balloon was much bigger than I realized!

"VanHerck said. The balloon was as much as 200 feet tall, with a payload the size of a jetliner that weighed “in excess of a couple thousand pounds.”

Clearly, this wasn't like shooting down Winne the pooh

Sorta sounds like Pearl Harbor. Nobody knows anything til after the fact even though the damn flew all the way across the country.

Seems like a usd 400 billion difference....

BBC News - US-China trade hits record high despite rising tensions
China continues to play the US with regards to our exports there. They've still locked out many US companies exporting products to China that compete with Chinese homegrown industries. That's why Trump tariffed their imports here and Brandon surprisingly has continued the tariffs.

Iran announced today that it has opened an underground airbase called Eagle 44. They put Israel on notice that their aircraft and cruise middles are now housed beyond Israel’s reach. The photo that was appended to the story by Iran:

Yup. That’s an F4 Phantom. The world’s supreme attack fighter…..in the 1960’s. Sixty years ago! Eagle 44 is the only place their F4s stand a chance against the Israeli ADF. If they dare to fly them, Israel will shoot them down wholesale.

Funny the things that make the Iranians puff up their chest!

That is funny. They probably have a F-14 or two still moldering in that bunker as well. Would be a perfect prop around which to build Top Gun III.

A mouse was placed at the top of a jar filled with grains. It was so happy to find so much food around him that no longer he felt the need to run around searching for food.
Now he could happily live his life. After a few days of enjoying the grains, he reached the bottom of the jar.
Suddenly, he realize that he was trapped and he couldn't get out.
He now has to fully depend on someone to put grains in the jar for him to survive. He has no choice but to eat what he's given.
A few lessons to learn from this:
1) Short term pleasures can lead to long-term traps.
2) If things come easy and you get comfortable, you are getting trapped into dependency.
3) When you are not using your skills, you will lose more than your skills. You lose your choices and freedom.
4) Freedom does not come easy but can be lost quickly. Nothing comes easily in life and if it comes easily, maybe it is not worth it.
Don't curse your struggles.
They are your blessings in disguise.
Every day you have an opportunity to evade the tragedy of a rat race.

About Lon's Elephant hunts w/Tokoloshe? I hear Lon is battling cancer? What is his long term prognosis? I am already booked to hunt Africa in 2024 2025. Might consider 2026 for another African hunt. I want to hunt a more wild open region devoid of civilization. Concern is the risk that I book f/2026 then find poor Lon has passed on? Does Lon have any assistance to carry on the business in his absence?

Is your 22HP still available? If so have the original case?

Hi Ian, I'm contemplating my first outing, leaving UK via Dubai to Africa, taking rifles as you did.

I presume it went okay for you, would you have done anything differently? Cheers, Richard East Sussex
