I plan to retire in the next 2 to 4 years when my youngest finishes college. I have wanted to go on a hunt like this for decades, but my three Sons came first. I want to take my middle Brother (yes there is three of us and I have three nephews by him LOL) has had dreamed of hunting Africa all his life. He would tell his teachers in first and second grade that He and Our Dad would go on Safari hunts in Africa that only happened in his dreams. I want to learn as much as possible to have the best time of our lives not only hunting, but experiencing Africa. I want to mainly hunt plains animals, but I am not against dangerous game hunting.
Last year we lost Our Dad and Granddad, so I would rather do this hunt before either of us turn 60. We have worked hard all our lives as Master Plumbers. I would like to start enjoying life fulfilling some of our dreams sooner than later. I have enjoyed collecting militaria all my life and we both have been shooting since we were 3. We have hunted a lot when we were younger and less as we had families and some other things that happened along the way. I continued to target shoot all my life. We are just three sets of three Sons that have worked hard and taken care of our families all our life in North Texas about an hour Northeast of Dallas.

Welcome to AH.

Welcome to AH! Since you're not far from Dallas, I would suggest you spend a day or two in January at the DSC Convention. That is if those poor folks down in Houston don't have you working down there.

Welcome to AH, hope you find your dream safari.

welcome to AH,
sounds like you've been dreaming about this hunt for ages,,,
hope you all have time of your lives

Welcome; you have found the right place to do your research and I do hope to meet you at DSC!

Welcome!

Welcome to AH. Your "story" is a very familiar thyme on AH. Hunting Africa was always just a dream. Families came first, our dreams suffered. But eventually it becomes time for "our" day in the sun. Planning an African hunt is almost as much fun as actually going. AH members share their experiences thereby helping newcomers like yourself to be better prepar4d for their eventual trip. Hunting in Africa is unlike anything you've ever experienced before. Enjoy the "ride."

Hello and welcome!

Welcome Tribrothers,

We would welcome the opportunity to meet you and say hello at the DSC. Show. In the mean time, enjoy the forums. Feel free to ask as many questions as you can think of. This site is a great source of info with many eager folks willing to offer advice and guidance.

Welcome to the best information forum on hunting Africa! At your young age you should be able to work in lots of African hunts and experiences!

I spent my high school years near Saginaw, TX and learned to drive between there and Leonard, TX. From your description, I'd guess I drove through your neck of TX at some time.

Have a great time planning as well as going on your African adventure!

Welcome to AH tribrothers! Enjoy the site! (y)

Welcome Tribrothers!
This forum is a GREAT place to start. I wish I had known of it b/4 my 1st hunt. I would also suggest Boddington's books African Experience & Safari Rifles II. You are in for a GREAT experience! Best wishes!

Welcome to AH!

Welcome to AH sir! Planning a safari is part of the fun. You came to the right place to get help and to learn.

Welcome to the forums. Without a doubt, this is the best place on the web to get information and insight on Africa and worldwide hunting. My only suggestion is don't be afraid to ask questions and go as soon as you can. And as Columbo would say "one other thing", nobody goes just once. :D

welcome. I think you will find this place a great place to help plan your dream trip.

You will be amazed how fun a trip it is once you go and the build up is all worth the wait. Just go sooner then later to enjoy this dream seems you may have earned it. Good luck with your plans

Welcome to AH! Don't let that dream fade away, book your hunt as soon as possible, if you need any assistance or quotations don't hesitate to contact me directly on my email as per below information.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
