Hello all.

New to the forum, but have been reading the stories here for some time. I have a few friends and family that have hunted Africa and it’s on my bucket list. Thank you to all who have shared their experiences and pics. Let’s those of us who haven’t had the privilege live vicariously through you!

Thanks again!

Welcome to the posting side of AH.

Welcome to AH!

Welcome aboard dtec41. Please tell us a little more about yourself as it relates to hunting. things like what have you hunted previously, what kind and caliber rifles do you own, do you reload. Do you have any near term African hunts planned? If so, what for?

Welcome! I bet you might have a photo or two of a big Kansas whitetail to share.

Welcome aboard!

Dtec41, welcome to AH! I’ve bird hunted in SW Kansas near Ulysses in the past. Use to be excellent, but now everyone has changed from corn and sunflowers to a sourgum to feed some huge dairies. The birds apparently moved on.

Have only hunted in Kansas. I farm here so I’m almost hunting every day. Really saw a decline in all populations a couple of years ago due to drought, but the numbers have rebounded the last 2 years. A friend of mine has a stand at one of my fields and he sat in it for 4 years before taking a nice Muley buck last year and another this year.

I do reload for my rifles. 22-250 to 375H&H. Haven’t had the time to do it as much as I’d like.

I don’t have any near by plans for Africa. Agriculture isn’t allowing a lot of excess funds. One headed to college and another in 3 years is going to play pretty hard also.

Oh well, it snowed last night. Better go grab the shotgun!

They must’ve moved down here! We had a really good spring/ summer for pheasant and quail. Just small areas of hail and a lot of cover. While I was harvesting corn, I would flush quite a few roosters that were still juveniles. Haven’t seen that in a while.

Glad to have ya! Oh if you ever want to invite me down to hunt whitetail just let me know!:ROFLMAO:

welcome welcome welcome

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
