Yes, purchase 2 airline tickets (or drive) to Dallas for the DSC show (January 7, 8, 9, 10, 2016) talk to several outfitters, get price lists from every African outfitter and then decide where and what you want to shoot. After that, make a Excel "spend" sheet and decide what fit your budget and time.

Then decide, plan, plan, and anticipate until you leave. Enjoy your first trip (notice I said first) and tell us all about it when you get back. Then decide where and how you will taxidermy, and show us pictures. Oh yes, I forgot to tell you to get into lengthy debate over which caliber and which gun to use. Did I forget anything? Thank you to all. Unfortunately we will be out of country during the time of the DSC show or we would gladly make the drive/flight up to go the event sounds fantastic. I haven't decided on a country, but I really like the thought of Kudu to start with. I've spent years hunting elk in Colorado (my wife and mines native land) and I believe Kudu could be a comparative challenge for body size and difficulty to bring down. I would have no idea for sure, but the thought seems very exciting. I'm certainly open to any ideas that people have for a first hunt to any country in Africa.

Yep, I have 4 tips.

1.Always say "Yes dear".
2.Always hold the door open for her.
3. Always seat her at the dinner table.
4. Always take her to Africa.

These will get you to many trips to Africa.
