Thank you. Yes I heard good things about KMG. Great to have you confirm. My brother and I look forward to experiencing hunting in Limpopo next month.

Hello, I hunt in Indonesia and Australia. Only wild boar in Indonesia, Sambar deer in Australia before the awful bushfires.
Nice to meet everyone.
Will be going on my first Buffalo Hunt with KMG Safaris next month.

My late father worked for Caltex Pacific Indonesia and shot this tiger with a shotgun. I thought it might interest some readers

Welcome and good luck on your hunt for cape buffalo. Will be watching for a hunt report on your return.

Thank you flatwater bill. I plan to practice at a military range outside Jakarta next week using a wooden tripod and my Dad’s .375 which he got as a retirement present in the early 70’s. A real hassle just to get a permit to take it to the shooting range.

I spend time in Australia and Indonesia. My brother and I go hunting for Sambar Deer in Gippsland regularly. Although it is not easy to get a firearms license in Australia, once you have it, it is so much more simple than Indonesia. It was easier before though. When I was a kid in Melbourne I remember shooting pest birds in my gradfather’s vegetable garden with tiny .22 ball cartridges.

Other than that I engaged a private trainer to improve my strength and endurance. I am 67 but thank goodness don’t have any significant problems.

I have also been reading books on buffalo hunting and looking at Youtube videos, some better than others.

Marius from KMG tells me we will be hunting near a town called Alldays in Limpopo and it will be 30C (86F) with thick vegetation. We plan to visit waterholes and follow buffalo tracks from there.

It will be a totally new experience for me.

Best wishes,

Sjakon

Thanks, SJ............I was curious if you had access to a shooting range. It sounds as if you do.....with a little red tape involved. It will be nice to use your dad's 375. .....FW Bill

Thank you Velo Dog. Absolutely agree. There is nothing remotely as good as this website.

Welcome,
Im happy about so many tiger hunters here.
What happens with the trophy of your father.
Do you still have it ?
Thank you. That was in 1972. No I think my mother gave it away. Our Dachshund kept chewing the claws and ears. It ended up looking quite disheveled.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
