Dear Africa Hunting members,
I am Ron Thomson, after 25 years of service to the Rhodesian National Parks Department, of which I was the Provincial Game Warden in charge of Hwuange and the Gonarezhou National parks, and author of more than 20 books including seven big game hunting memoir books.

Thanks to @Frederik I am now part of this great community.
Glad to have you as a member here Ron. Look forward to your contributions on AH.

You can follow the link below to the thread I started on the books before I could get Ron Logged in to AH.

Ron Thomson Books
I replied to that thread as well. I would love to get one of each, signed if possible. Let me know what we need to do to get money there and the books here to the USA.

Welcome, Oom Ron it took sometime but you are now part of a great group of people who loves hunting understands sustainable use and loves nature.

I will keep visiting (drink a nice cup of coffee) and show you and Elma how the forum works it takes sometime to undestand how to do everything but we will get there
Yes, welcome Ron! For some time I've been thinking of adding a few tips for posting. Guess it's time I started a thread.

:S Welcome:

Welkom sir! Love reading your books, binged your memoirs. Only book 6 left. Good to have you here.

Welcome!

We can use an experienced African hunter on this Forum. Hoping that you will occasionally act as a moderator in disputes, particularly regarding DG hunting and also the rifles and ammunition used for it. I am not as old as you, but I am over seventy years old and therefore I hold views regarding especially buffalo and elephants hunting that are not always in line with the younger generations of clients which hunt in Africa.
Welcome Ron. Look forward to learning from you. I’m not that old but old school

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
