Dear Africa Hunting members,
I am Ron Thomson, after 25 years of service to the Rhodesian National Parks Department, of which I was the Provincial Game Warden in charge of Hwuange and the Gonarezhou National parks, and author of more than 20 books including seven big game hunting memoir books.

Thanks to @Frederik I am now part of this great community.

Welcome on board Ron. I have very much enjoyed your books, as I am certain have many others on here. Having your vast experience and knowledge on the forum will be most valuable to us all.

Welcome to the forum, Sir!

Welcome Ron - very much looking forward to your contibutions

Welcome to a fantastic place for hunters and African enthusiasts to gather and share. Looking forward to your contributions to our happy home.

Welcome Ron. I will have to look up your books. Cheers from NZ.

Welcome!

We can use an experienced African hunter on this Forum. Hoping that you will occasionally act as a moderator in disputes, particularly regarding DG hunting and also the rifles and ammunition used for it. I am not as old as you, but I am over seventy years old and therefore I hold views regarding especially buffalo and elephants hunting that are not always in line with the younger generations of clients which hunt in Africa.

Welcome, Oom Ron it took sometime but you are now part of a great group of people who loves hunting understands sustainable use and loves nature.

I will keep visiting (drink a nice cup of coffee) and show you and Elma how the forum works it takes sometime to undestand how to do everything but we will get there

@WR Thomson , welcome to the forum. I have greatly enjoyed reading your writings. If anyone else hasn’t read Ron Thomson’s books get ordering now.

Great to have you join us. Really looking forward to learning your perspective on things.

Welcome to AH! We look forward to you sharing your considerable experience with us.

Welcome to AH!

Read some of your stuff, nicely done and welcome-

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
