I stumbled across some photos of my 35 whelen when it was fresh from the gunsmith. Thought I might put them up for those that are interested.

Beautiful! In my clumsy hands it wouldn’t look so handsome after a couple of hunts unfortunately. I’m a bit rough on my tools.
Care for that handsome tool and it will serve you well!

Exceptional rifle and in one of my favorite chamberings I never had.:)

Very nice rifle!

Beautiful rifle.
Have any pictures of it in front of game?

Very nice indeed. Awesome caliber.

The 35 Whelen is a very versatile caliber. I own two 35(s) one is a sporterized '03-A3 the other is a Remington Mod 700. Neither look as good as yours. How about some pics of what it does at the range?

Is this a branded gun, or custom build? Tell us about it, eh?

Thanks,

jeff

GuyG, that is one sweet rifle. I too prefer the 225 & 250 gr bullets in the Whelen. But after seeing your group with the 185(s) I could easily be convinced to try some smaller bullets as well. Out of curiosity, what piqued your interest in the 35 Whelen initially?

Nice rifle and group. The 35 Whelen is my favorite rifle round. I prefer the 250 grain NP or the 225 grain Barnes. Both rounds have proven themselves in Africa.

My interest started with the 358 winchester as a teenager. After doing some reading of the 35 whelens past performance and a good reputation as a solid hitter since on game like grizzly, I really started to like it. It is hard for not to like the 35 whelen after seeing how good it performs in the field.

My sentiments exactly. Mine has been to Africa twice. Neither of my PH(s) were familiar with it, but by the time I left they were "Loyal Fans." I hand load for all my rifles except the 22 Rimfire and 17 HMR. My Whelen load was taken from the Barnes Manual and has their 225 Gr. TSX poking along at 2800 FPS. The ballistics of that load compares quite favorably to many of the smaller magnums. But without the recoil. So far the farthest we had to "track" any of the African game shot with it was less than 40 yards. Most of the animals were DRT or made it less than 10 yards.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

X5i scope is perfect - thanks for an easy transaction! Buy with confidence.
Made it to Augusta Georgia yesterday for a meeting, hunt bookings are looking good for 2026 and 2027, had a great time on our Alabama safari shot a rutting deer at 200 yards with 7mm PRC near Huntsville and then headed on to Butler Alabama and semi guided my first deer ever shot a very nice broken off 8 point with hunter there and spend a few days on 1100 acres hunting preserve awesome place!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA
