Ruger No. 1 Tropical (Model 1-H) – .416 Rigby

Classic heavy-hitting dangerous game rifle. This is the sought-after Tropical 1-H configuration, built on Ruger’s robust falling-block action and chambered in the legendary .416 Rigby.

Year of Manufacture: 1994 (Serial Prefix 133-)

Barrel: 24" Heavy "D" weight barrel with integral scope rib.

Condition: Fair. This rifle has been used as intended. Shows honest finish wear on the metal and handling marks/bruising on the wood. Perfect for a hunter looking for a "workhorse" big-bore rifle.

Action: Strong, tight lockup with the classic underlever.

Own a piece of big-game history that isn't a "safe queen." Ready for the field or your next safari project.

$1400 and No trades.

Plenty more pics or can FaceTime video to see.

Must be legal to purchase/own firearm.

Prefer to meet in Chattanooga, TN, but will ship on your dime and the method you prefer in US only and legal states.

New here but I have numerous happy transaction on local guns forums in TN, I can provide. I do not know a lot bout these rifles but will try to answer all questions. I also have Guntab account, however I have not utilized it yet.

Thanks, I have some other DGA rifles I am selling.

That was quick, as it should be for a cool gun.

I met with the seller face to face at my office today. This gun was exactly as described. I elected to pass but only because he also had a Ruger Safari Magnum in 416 Rigby that I chose to buy instead. Just FYI for those interested, he also has a Ryan Breeding 500J for sale that I think he intends to list here potentially. Based on my in person interaction today, I can vouch for him.

This is a very dangerous thing for me to see right now, someone please buy it soon or I might cave within a week or two. Great price and great chambering

I tried to help you but I upsold myself when I saw the other guns he had. You should buy it!

I would love to see the .500 Jeffery

I can vouch for @dirtroadhound if anybody is interested but cautious.

I mean I'm sort of a scoundrel myself, so not sure how much my vouching helps.

And I definitely want to see the .500

Call out that this Ruger 416 Rigby has a New England Custom Gun aperture sight for the Ruger scope mounting system. Proper sights for a heavy rifle, on my 416 Remington, accurate to the limit of my eyesight (100 yards).
This rifle is a good deal.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
