Finally made it into Dallas to pick up my Heym 416 Rigby. I'm still in a post-surgery walking boot on my left foot, so not able to shoot it yet - at least I'm not supposed to. But I am looking forward to it. Chris mounted a Schmidt Bender scope on it and it feels like a nice setup.

Stunning rifle! Love the grain on the wood. Get well soon.

Thanks. I'm trying my best but it's just a slow process.

Congratulations, beautiful rifle! Get well soon.

Congrats on a really nice looking set up, hope you get to use it soon

Damn, now that’s a rifle. Booot or not, I’d be out shooting that puppy. Get well soon.

Beautiful 416. My favorite DG cartridge. What are your plans for it?

I came real close today. I need to zero it. I've got an indoor range with a 5" thick oak back wall and an 8' X 8' X 8' armor plate trap. It's 1/4" plate for the first half and 1/2" plate on the back half. I've got 1/2" armor plate targets that set up in the trap. I've shot my 45's with no issues, not sure about a 416.

Beautiful rifle and love the scope choice. One of my favorite scopes. I’ve got a few in different rifles from AR’s up to DG rifles

Definitely some nice wood in that one. Gorgeous rifle. Excited to hear how it shoots, expect great things.

That's a good question. I've done well with my 375 and 450/400. I got the 500NE thinking it would be more effective with elephants than the 450/400. Honestly, I bought the 416 because when I went to pick up the 500 I asked Chris what else came in the shipment that wasn't already sold and when he showed me a picture of the 416 - I said, "I'll take it".

How realistic is it to use the 416 in place of the 375? I really don't have much interest in plains game; I'm a leopard away from a Big 5/Dangerous 7, and after that I'll probably stick with croc, hippo, cape buffalo, and elephant.

So now, I've got a 300 win mag, a 375 H&H, a 416 Rigby, a 458 Lott, a 450/400NE, and a 500NE; I may have to take my wife and/or son with me on the next rip to Africa just to bring the extra guns and ammo.

This my first Schmidt Bender, I looked though it today - I like it.

Thanks Will, I'll let you know once I shoot it.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
