The Old Dog Hunts Again

Mixing one part hunter, one part family, and a dash of old friend...Sounds like a recipe for a good time! Enjoy and play safe. Can't wait to hear about this one.

You guys have an awesome hunt!
Best

Soon we will unite over a couple of Lagers before we board our flight to Namibia to chase game. I am certainly looking forward to exchanging laughs and stories by the fire while in good company!

See you soon mi Padre,

DL(your sonny boy!)

Hey VD....you and the boy shoot straight and have a great time. Can't wait to read your weird but always funny sense of humor about hunting, guns, rockfish and such! If your son writes likes you, please ask him to contribute a report also!!

I couldn't write as well as my Paps even if his hands were superglued to large pints of beer

No Phoenix, that is actually Theadore Roosevelt whom reminds me very much of my Paps(tough and adventurous). This pic just seemed fitting to the trip that we're about to commence

Go have some fun together....and slap dads fingers if he tries to fondle the (handpicked) young waitresses at Joes Beerhouse..:E Nono: :V Spank:

Karas mountains, just south of Keetmanshoop....our driver Kobus run a Land Rover workshop at his remote farm up there...Namibia is a very nice country indeed...no-nonsense boer farmers..

What happens in Africa stays in Africa.....Unless it has a huge rack, then it's coming with me!

There is nothing like a father/so hunt in Africa. I have memories that will last me my life time on the hunts I had with my son there. Hope we get to share more soon.

Enjoy that hunt with your dad and enjoy all you can of Namibia. Good luck to you both.

VD, am I jealous you have family and friends going with you! I never could get any kids, son-in-laws, nor grand kids to go hunting with me even if I paid all the costs!
You're going to have such a grand trip!

You are absolutely right, there is no substitute for hunting in Africa or otherwise with a son or other family member that enjoys it as much as you do!

By the way, if you are paying, you can call me son, even though I am probably as old or older than you!

Why not take your gun? Namibia is the easiest place to take a gun. Have a great trip!

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
