Suppressing a .375?

If the gun is already threaded then I say go for it. As long as it doesn't make your overall length too unwieldy. A little hearing protection and a little recoil reduction never hurt anyone. Although I did see a member earlier today refer to suppressors as "wussy boy stuff". I would have replied but I don't think he would have heard the notification .

My Tsavo 375 is suppressed. I have a scythe TI on my 416 Rigby which I love so I told Lance at Hendershots that I wanted their 46M Hybrid on my Tsavo. He said it would throw off the balance of my 375 and suggested the Anechoic 45. He said it would balance perfectly so that’s what I had installed.

This gets brought up from time to time and I'm a fan. I did a build thread on here which you may find interesting. I had my barrel chopped and threaded which improved balance and really didn't affect velocity as much as some folks would have you believe.

Run a AB Raptor 10 (reflexon one 375 Ruger that has been re-threaded to the standard thread pitch. Also run a Hybrid 46M on another 375 Ruger with a hub threaded for the Ruger thread pitch.
One of my buddies uses the Raptor but takes the front sight off.

The Raptor 10 being a back over the barrel really cuts down on the length.

I use raptor 8 with 5” reflex on 375 Ruger. Cant imagine It not being supressed.

After shooting half a box through my .416 Taylor, I realized if I was going to practice with it very much, I wanted it suppressed. Silencer Central chopped the barrel to 21”, threaded the barrel, and mounted 3-port ASR brake. I have a Hybrid 46m coming anytime now. I’m planning a hunt with Nick Bowker August 2027 and he loans 300 Win Mags to his clients at no charge. Most, if not all, are suppressed.

I just had my 375 H&H chopped down to 19.5” and threaded. I went with a Bowers Vers 375 and absolutely love it. Knocked the recoil down to practically nothing and no need for ear muffs!

Holy cow, I was thinking about this very topic just now. I'm noodling my long term 375 solution (right now thinking a semi-custom build or going the R8 Professional 2.0 route) but no matter what I want to run it suppressed, preferably with an over-the-barrel suppressor. Following.

I contacted Ruger about replacing my non threaded Alaskan barrel with a threaded barrel, was told will only replace with whatever it was originally equipped with. I don’t want to lose the front banded sight, local gunsmith did not want to touch it, suggested Briley in Houston. Any thoughts?

Previous owner on my Ruger Guide Gun had the barrel threaded. He unfortunately went with the Ruger thread pattern which is not the industry standard. I had it fixed.

You will need a new banded front sight or a screw on front sight
A friend of mine went with the front sight from NECG that is the screw on. He removes the front sight when using his reflex supressor on his 375.

South paw precision has a good reputation. They also understand the value of the proper shoulder on a threaded barrel.

Silencer central has threaded a couple of barrels for me. They do a fairly high volume and have a dedicated team that do nothing but threading barrels. Easy shipping. They send a sleeve and box for you to put naked barrel into and return to them. You can communicate with them about your front sight.

Since when does the ScytheTI come capable for 416 caliber? I was under the impression the ScytheTI was up to 30 cal only? Any chance you used a different can on your 416 Rigby? I called Deadair as well and they stated my 46 cal Primal can't handle energies north of 5100 ft pounds. How heavy were your loads in your 416?

I'll take the Vortex scope cover you have listed in the Pay it Forward thread.
