I just watched the USA, UAE, Bahrain and Israel sign a peace agreement, brokered by the Trump Administration.

Perhaps we need more rude, crude and socially unacceptable folks taking care of diplomacy and less from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and Georgetown.
Can you imagine the MSM had the Obama administration been able to manage this breakthrough?

It would have made the weather channel.

It's amazing how many people prefer a politician who smiles nicely, says all the right things, and does absolutely nothing. If they do nothing I really don't give a damn about anything else.

They would have put him above God. All while denying that God existed of course.

Pretty amazing isn't it!

Abraham Accords. What a classic name for this agreement.

Jared Kushner started on this before the inauguration. Trump's first foreign visit was Riyadh.

Most had bought into the Foggy Bottom conventional wisdom that there had to be a two state solution, before peace in the ME could happen. Kushner gave the Palestinian's about a month, then went about negotiating peace without the Palestinian Arabs who had no intention of a peace agreement.

Timing is important. This couldn't have been done if the Wahhabi's still had the power they had 20 years ago. This also couldn't have been done without the rise of MBS. The UAE and Bahrain are initial signators, but this probably doesn't get done without the full support of KSA which will sign later.

Give Trump/Kushner credit for looking completely outside the box. He did the same with Syria, Kurds and Turkey when the world thought the Kurds would be massacred and we had turned our back on them.

The Deep State, both Democrat and Republican are running scared. The money will dry up without wars. Imagine being the politician campaigning for war in this day and age.

Pax Orbis!

I recall "the peace dividend" talk after the collapse of USSR. Rather than reduce the size of government and give the people some money, the push was since the government already had the money, look for new places to spend it.

Reduce the size of government (I wish) and give the people some money (stolen from the people to begin with via income tax).
I’ll hold my breath until the government shrinks and they hand us a fat check on their way out the door.

Perhaps I am wrong but if Trump has four more years and has congress, I think there is a decent chance he significantly dismantles government workers before he leaves office.

If Trump wins, I wouldn't want to own real estate in the greater DC area.

Can Jared Kushner, a 36 year old real estate heir with no diplomatic experience, pull off peace in the Middle East? http://nyti.ms/2l4ZSkW

I'm not going to take sides in this dispute, because, like some, I'm not an American!

But I will say this about politicians generally: Am I the only one who finds it more than a little odd that people who have decades in politics, and had many many chances to solve the problems the US and other countries are facing today, are criticizing someone who has been at this for less than four years?

If these people are running on their record . . . I would say the very best they can offer is that things will be no worse once they leave. The won't, without a doubt, be any better, based on their history, so as long as "no worse" is the best you're prepared to hope for, then vote for them.

This applies to politicians in every country - if you haven't solved the problem when you had the chance, you don't get to criticize someone who's getting at it for the first time.

Totally agree.

I think people just want to think that things will get better without having to work hard or make sacrifices in order to do it, and it's always easier to blame someone else rather than take personal accountability. Politicians depend upon this. And, people are cattle and move as told. Get someone trying to move the herd in a different direction and holy crap you have a mess.

Hello Wheels,

Man I hope you are proven right.
I always vote for the pro-2nd Amendment / pro-Capitalism candidate.
I’m always amazed as to why people who love hunting and owning firearms here in the USA, would ever in a million years vote for any member of the anti-2nd Amendment / anti-Hunting Party....very puzzling, I don’t get it.
Therefore, even though I agree with those who think Trump is a bellowing buffoon, I will nonetheless be voting for him yet again, as the lesser of evils.

I agree, that if Trump wins a 2nd term, Washington DC real estate might suddenly be available at bargain prices.
Again, I hope you are right.
Unfortunately, millions of USA citizens salivate for socialism, in hopes of getting valuable things for free, such as health care and college tuition, just to name two of the many hand-outs they seem to yearn for.

Cheers,
Velo Dog.

When Schumer/McConnell/Warner/Rubio walk into a SCIF together, it might turn into an interesting day.

$1 million bail set for Lancaster protesters decried as 'blatantly unconstitutional'
USA TODAY

Bail was set Tuesday at $1 million for several protesters arrested during demonstrations against a fatal police shooting in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, a move decried by many including the state's lieutenant governor, who called it "blatantly unconstitutional."
Lancaster police arrested 12 adults and one juvenile after about 100 people gathered outside the city's police station Sunday following the police killing of Ricardo Munoz, 27, who authorities say chased an officer with a knife. Police said the demonstration devolved into a riot that caused damage to the station, vandalism to local businesses and a small fire, and officers used "chemical munitions" to disperse the crowd.
At least seven of them were held on $1 million bail, according to police.
The adults face charges including conspiracy to commit arson, riot, institutional vandalism and disorderly conduct. One has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. The 13 defendants range from 16 to 43 years old and live in Lancaster and surrounding communities.

An American gun owner voting for any Democrat candidate, is like an American Indian voting for George Custer.
