Looks like I'll have plenty of time to get my reloading done for this year. I'm sitting here with an air cast on my right leg and was told that I shouldn't put any weight on it for at least the next 4 weeks. This whole mess started back in early November when I went to an urgent care facility with a significant amount of pain in my lower right leg. They asked me what I had done to cause the condition and I told them I had no idea I just woke up and it hurt. X-rays were taken and showed no fracture. So, they decided that I must have aggravated a tendon and with me looking forward to a pheasant hunt the following day I eagerly accepted their diagnoses. Well, the pheasant hunt was very successful albeit for the horrible pain and numbness in my leg. I laid low for a few days to let the pain and swelling pass but with hunting season starting in earnest I couldn't stay off my feet for too long. So, for the next 3 months the cycle continued hunt for a few days and rest for a few days. With my hunting season just about wrapped up for this year I decided to go back to and have them take another look at my leg. More X-rays were taken with the same results, no fracture visible. Not satisfied this time I asked them for more tests and a CT scan was ordered and performed and guess what they found that my leg was indeed broken. It was trying to heal but with me on it as much as I was it just couldn't quite get it done. So here I sit hoping that it heals and the surgery that they talked about won't be necessary. On the plus side though I do have a lot of loading to do and so far, my wife has been very good about waiting on me hand and foot, I'm just not sure what this is going to cost me in the end.

Hope all heals up well for you, don’t rush it, I’m coming off a rotator cuff surgery myself and can really feel it when I push it too far, think of your reloading as therapy.

Jduckhunter, will you be reloading anything that your better half normally uses? If not, you may have to do some of the little things she normally does, i.e. fold clothes, empty the dish washer etc. Maybe even some flowers for no other reason than to show her you appreciate her doing the extra work your injury necessitates.

No reloading for her, the only thing she shoots anymore is her 38 spl and I have her well stocked up for that. I'm a little limited on what I can do on crutches, but I have been helping out getting ready for our granddaughter's birthday party tomorrow, which we are hosting. I gotta tell you that smoking a pork shoulder in an outdoor smoker on crutches is not an easy task.

Hope you heal quickly jduckhunter!

Get well soon @jduckhunter and finger's crossed no further surgery will be necessary!

Hopefully you’ll be able to avoid surgery. Fortunately you insisted on more testing and eventually the culprit was found.
At least after this your arm will be strong working the lever on the loading press

Good to see you got things on the right track. At least you got the reloading to keep you from going bonkers. The weather at this time of year sucks anyway. Here's to a trouble free heal.

Yeah, between loading and these darn crutches I am building my upper body strength.

Hope you heal quickly!

Sorry for the bad news, but great if you can avoid surgery.

Hoping for a full and speedy recovery :D Cheers:

Always sucks to be laid up, but at least you made it through hunting season! Hope it heals quickly and without issue!

Best wishes for a quick recovery. BTW, did you ever find out how you broke your leg?

You have the wrong person. I have no idea what you are talking about..

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
