on a lighter note...

Hope she has some available in January. I didn't realize she had those (the oiled leather ones). I'll certainly pick some up.
She doesn’t make a whole lot of them.. she doesn’t think they’ll sell (most of her customers are 20-40 year old ladies… so most of her stuff is floral, aroma therapy, baking scent, or fruit… but every now and then I get her to brew up some “MANdles” lol… she’s got one that smells like a library of antique books (leather, oil, and maybe a hint of dust lol)… another one that smells like spent gunpowder, one that smells like sawdust in a wood shop, one that smells like bacon, etc…

I’ll see if I can get her to do a few up before TTHA for you… :)

About 30$

Old fashion steam iron.

Actually not a steam iron but a coal or ember iron.

You placed hot coals or embers into it to heat the base.

You are correct. We actually have a couple of these that were my step-father's.

In the 60s, I spent summers in the village where my father was from. There was no electricity because the village cluster was isolated from civilization by a wide river. There were all sorts of interesting gadgets in the house, in its utility half. Like this kind of iron, or a mechanical milk separator. At the same time, spent rocket stages from a nearby spaceport sometimes fell in the vicinity.

Can we get a link, please?

You won’t find the “man” scents there… like I posted before, I pretty much have to beg her to do a run of leather or gunpowder, etc…

But I’m guessing if she got a special request she’d knock out a few…

FWIW proceeds from her sales go to support 2 different orphanages in South Africa… one in Rustenberg, and another in the Eastern Cape…

She also has another line where 100% of the proceeds go to wildlife conservation efforts in South Africa

What it amounts to is… she’s not really in the business of making candles (although she’ll typically make 1000-1200 a year)… she’s an executive with a fairly large firm, and she also stays busy with a bookkeeping and tax firm we own/operate, and a non profit that we founded in 2022 that we are still hands on with… the candles were something of a hobby that accidentally turned into a business… so she uses the candle thing to fund charitable acts like the orphanages and conservation efforts while having fun pursuing her hobby..

I don’t complain… my house smells great year round lol..

I have some candles made by Dave's wife. She has one called Hemingway's Library I think. It has a great smell to it and we use it in our "bourbon room" which is full of books on African and several shoulder and pedestal mounts! We have bought many candles from them....make great Christmas gifts and the money goes to great causes.

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
