Getting older now, lots of time on my hands. I reload, dont shoot much as I use to but I can see still. Don’t climb high anymore or pack very hard as I once use too, life is more enjoyable just absorbing Gods creation. I shoot meat for my freezer still, that ain't changing.
Digging my 2 Weatherby’s a 2.0 300 bee and the Alaskan .340 the most.

Good day! Welcome to AH! Great to hear you're enjoying life!!
Regards
Johan

Greetings Cjack,

Khomas Highland Hunting Safaris of Namibia, welcomes you to the greatest forum on earth.

I am 100% with you on the mindset or, dare I say the “culture” of meat hunting.
That’s not to say my walls are bare.
Indeed there are some examples of good taxidermy art, displayed here in my home.

However, antler horn and tusk are not what draws people like you and myself to hunting and fishing, that is for sure.
I suspect that you agree, the draw is more complex than that.

Anyway Best Regards,
Velo Dog.

The .300 bee 2.0 Backcountry is the Peak 44 Blacktooth I believe, the electroless nickle .340 is a synthetic that Weatherby chose.

Welcome to you! Looking forward to hearing more from you!

Cjack, the reflections on your "current self" sounds like many of our own. Where do you live and what have you hunted? Unlike you, I only have one Weatherby caliber rifle. That being a 1936 Winchester Model 70 that started out as a 30-06 and was rechambered. I hunt whitetails in Michigan and haven't found the need for the extra horsepower.

Welcome welcome welcome

Made it to Augusta Georgia yesterday for a meeting, hunt bookings are looking good for 2026 and 2027, had a great time on our Alabama safari shot a rutting deer at 200 yards with 7mm PRC near Huntsville and then headed on to Butler Alabama and semi guided my first deer ever shot a very nice broken off 8 point with hunter there and spend a few days on 1100 acres hunting preserve awesome place!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

Hello - I was looking at your post from several years ago regarding the Winchester 300 H&H. Any chance you still have the lefty M70 300 H&H for sale?
Thank you, Mike
