LOL! Your little meat bull was twice as big as mine. Course I got mine with a bow. I got a sheep instead of the caribou so looks like we both did pretty good. Still looking forward to a get together.

The first week of Fall and my brother and I are blessed to have put up a couple of fat Shirley Basin does.
They'll be rendered into family sized portions of butterflied chops and sausages.
Tomorrow I'll get to work on filling my buck tag.
I love this time of year.
Drew a tag for mule deer in Utah, but no luck. Really beautiful country, and a challenging hunt for a guy used to West Texas. Hopefully my whitetail season here goes better.
Zimbabwe, New Zealand, Canada (Ontario,British Columbia,Manitoba), USA (Colorado,Montana,Wyoming,Texas,South Dakota), Africa(Limpopo,NW Province, East Cape, Kwazulu Natal,) Namibia x3,
I just finished up a archery any elk hunt in the Black Hills of South Dakota. It took 12 yrs. to draw the license and i will never see this license again. I did harvest a nice 5x5 bull elk after 11 days of hunting.
I drew a West River any deer tag for November. I did not draw a East River any deer so I will get a double doe license. I also have a any deer and doe deer tag for archery.
Just got back from my moose hunt. I recruited a buddy to come along with me to help load one if I was successful. Unfortunately he could only get two days off work so this hunt was on a serious time crunch. We left Moose Jaw at 11:45 pm on Monday night and arrived at his cabin at 4:00 am. Once we had my truck unloaded and some heat going in the cabin it was just after 5am and we still had an hour drive to get to the hunting area so we decided to not bother with sleep and headed out.
Now my better half is from Newfoundland and as with all Newfies is very fond of moose meat. So she gave me strict orders to not bother looking for one with big antlers. Just make sure I came home with one!
The first bull we saw was a really nice one, about 45" spread, but he wouldn't play ball. The next two were smaller Bulls but both were too close to some houses. The fourth was on posted land. Finally at 4pm a bull stepped out of a marsh 100 yards away. He didn't have much for antlers but did have good body size. I nearly passed him up but then remembered why I was here and that I only had a half day left. And I would have a very angry Newfie to answer to if I came home without one! So my trusty Browning BLR sent a bullet to Mooseville. The bull took off back into the bush and we heard a heck of a crash. When we went in after him, the first thing we saw was the red blood on the white aspen trees! The 150 grain Hornady American Whitetail bullet from my .308 went through the centre of both lungs and out the other side, so no recovered bullet as a souvenir, but lots ad delicious meat and a great experience. Oh, and Mama is happy!
Culled a piebald out of Eastern NC. Not a ton of white on him but with the forked beam and missing front upper teeth no doubt needed to be removed from the gene pool. Seems to be more and more around....
Took an old buck out of the gene pool with my Hawkins in muzzle loader season. Neat gnarly 9 points on side, 14 inch fork on the other. Lots of great jerky for my kiddos.
