Hello all. New member here and fist post. Been hunting off and on for almost 60years and finally getting serious about it. Never been to Africa, but the urge is getting stronger every day. Maybe in 2021 for my 70th. Every time I searched the net for info on one of the big bores. this forum popped up, so I figured now would be a good time to join the fun.
My latest quest is all the info I can find on the 416 Rigby. After a loooong search I finally found a CZ 500 deluxe in Rigby chambering. Should be here later this week. Really looking forward to getting used to it.
Will probably have lots of questions regarding re-loading.

Indeed. If I can manage to 86 the offshore fishing trips to Mexico this coming winter, Africa would be a real possibility next year. Hard to do tho, when the bitter cold winds blow here in the winter and I get thinking about the smell of diesel and salt water. Going to try my best tho.

Welcome aboard Earle. There are lots of Canadians on AH so you will not feel lonely in any respect. I was 73 when I went on my first safari, 75 on the second. The 416 is a time honored African caliber. Lots of us reload for it, so if you have any questions, ask away. One thing I will caution you about is that some CZs have feeding issues. Make up some dummy rounds, load your magazine to its' maximum and cycle them out of your rifle. If you have issues, they can be addressed by a gunsmith.
