Hi there - thanks for the invite! I was born and raised in eastern Canada but have lived in Arizona for 20 years. Gainfully employed but should note that I have been a freelance outdoor writer and editor since 1984. I have my own site and contribute to various other national sites as well. Haven't been to Africa yet, but who knows what the future holds?

Welcome to AH.

Hello and Welcome!

Hope you get to the African Continent in the near future!

Welcome to AH Marshall!

Welcome to AH! Where in AZ do you live?

Welcome to the forum Marshall! So what is your hunting experience and what do you write about?
Warning...never go to Africa because you’ll then have to go back again and again! Just thought I’d give you a fair chance:ROFLMAO::rolleyes:!

Thanks all. Grew up in eastern Canada hunting small game and deer mostly. Moose once or twice (hard to get drawn). Then the same thing in northern Maine. Arizona is amazing with Coues and Mule Deer, Antelope, Bison, Bighorn Sheep, Elk, Bear, Lion and an abundance of small game.

Most of my writing is feature stories, along with product reviews, company profiles, interviews, etc. I do free writing for conservation groups and I pick up some private writing/editing work here and there (web content, brochures, tech manuals, newsletters, etc) but that's not something I actively promote. I'm pretty busy with my full-time job so I write because I enjoy it, not as a business per se.

I know what you mean about Africa; I did my first saltwater fishing last year in Panama and it was life-changing. I've got that bug bad, now......

Shhh, you're making it that much harder for me to get drawn. :)

Welcome to AH!

Hi Marshall, welcome to AH !

Welcome to AH! Enjoy the site.

Welcome aboard Marshall. I'm from the mid-west Michigan to be exact and have waterfront property so I fish some. I too have been salt-water fishing and enjoyed it. Mark my words, hunting Africa will be more of a game changer than deep sea fishing was.

Welcome..... I have also fished the Panama waters. Absolutely amazing and I will go back.
Africa Awaits you, Marshall!!!!

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
