Am heading to SA for buffalo & plains game on the 18th with 2 friends , woodleigh wld core & hydro both in 300 (375 ruger). ;)
Both shooting into 2" which is good enough for me.
The hydrostatics have had good results by most accounts on the water buff down here......anyone used them on the cape buff & what results?

Looking forward to your report and pictures. Who are you hunting with?

No news for you on the bullets.

Good luck.

The guys that I know that use the Woodleighs are happy with them.

Good luck. 2" is a pretty small group on the side of a Buffalo.

Wish you the best of luck !

Have a good time!

When you take into account that your target should be about 3 to 4 inches.

you should be good to go.

Reports on the woodleigh's are very good from reports i have read.

Take some pictures and post a day by day safari count for all to read with pictures to back up your trophies....

I'm hunting with Jaco Strauss for the 2nd time, at Kwalata (1st time). Not sure but I think I'm getting buff-itis, if there such a thing.
I'll post a report & pics when I get back.
Cheers all.

Messmate,
Good luck on your buff hunt. I can assure you that the Woodleigh hydro stats work very well. If you pm me your email address I can email you pics of one that we recovered from a buff. It entered below the boss and recovered from the back leg just below the base of the tail.

Only issue that I have seen is that there can be feed issues. I also know that the new version has some sort of composite tip that is supposed to correct this issue.

Richteb....PM sent.
Cheers.

Here's an idea, put paper plates up at 50 yards, 75 yards, and 100 yards and see if you can hit them, off of the sticks, every time. You might also use Cape buffalo photographic targets (I get mine from Safari Press) and put them up at 50 yards. The rifle sounds like it is ready to go, the pie plates and photo targets will show if you are.

Looking forward to your report, I hope you drill a big'n.

Have a great hunt! I haven't used the woodleigh on buff, but Superior loads the woodleigh 250 for my .318 Westley and it is decisive on everything I have pointed it at. I am sure a 300 in your Ruger will be superb.

this is a well known disease that as far as i know is incurable :p, symptoms can be reduced for a while , but the antidote can become expensive even in the short term , as for long term:eyecrazy::crying: .:biggrin2: have a great time on your hunt/medical fix :thumb:

It's hopeless!!! Once you have contracted this great disease you can't get rid of it!!! It's really is a great disease to have. Though yes it can be expensive, but its well worth going out and trying to find this disease in all parts of the world.....that's just my take!! :D

A disease I've embraced. I've never enjoyed being so friggin ill.
Cheers

You're quite right Rick and I'm sure it will lead me to financial destitution....but stuff it,... I'm lucky in that my wife also has the symptoms of this disease..... so life is good.
Thanks guys for your best wishes. :thumb:

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
