I'm just curious as to whether or not there is a "penalty" on cull hunts if you don't take all the animals that you are assigned, i.e. if you are suppose to harvest 10 impala, but only take 8 in the time you are in Africa.
Just wondering and wasn't sure.......thought about taking an open sighted rifle with an older cartridge with a not-so-flat trajectory (.30/30Winchester, .35 Remington) and "getting close".
Just thought it might be fun to put the "hunt" back into "hunting"........;)

Going to depend on how your package was put together, if it's a pay per animal type hunt you may have minimum numbers to adhere to, if it's a package deal for a certain amount of animals included in the package don't expect a refund if you come up short on a few numbers. I don't mean that you just saw limited numbers and took everything available and still could not make the total number of animals in the package, that would be false representation by the Outfitter, but if there was plenty of opportunities but you could not make use of them due to your equipment or by choice, I would not expect a refund for animals not taken. On my driven hunts I have a minimum number of 30 animals per day per group of 4 shooters, they will have more than enough opportunities to take the 30, but if their equipment or Abillity lets them down and they only take 28, I still bill for 30. This is made clear in the contract before a hunt is even booked.

It depends on how the package was structured. I personally break all my packages into it's component parts before the hunt commences, including our cull package - day fees and animal fees for each species of cull animal. That way clients only pay for animals they successfully shoot at the package rate. They also don't then have to stick to the animals listed in the package if they don't want to and can take more or less of a species and add other species. Every outfitter's situation is different however and this may not be the case for all cull packages out there.

Yip, I have to agree with Victor here. This is the way it should be done.

You will get all kinds of answer with the only person with the right answer for you. Talk with the outfitter your going with let him know your wishes. He should be able to make the package then work for how you want to hunt.

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc

Good morning John, I just read your setup procedure for the northstar duplicator ator. I found it very hand and I did learn some things. I have the same machine and I am having a problem i can not figure out and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.
