Ugliest Rifle

I think your rifle looks superb. (y)
I think I'm certainly going to be in the minority here, but I much prefer the look of a classic-style synthetic stock over a wood stock...
Just me, I guess...

Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, Russ. So I can totally understand your sentiment.

Hey, didn’t you also have a wooden stock split on your .458 Winchester Magnum Zastava Model 70 ?

Ugly? Any firearm with TACTICAL attached to it and whoever came up with this design should be beaten about the face and buttocks with it.

While an Austrian designed it, only the French purchased it. That explains a lot.

youre thinking of another rifle.. an even uglier bullpup, called the FAMAS.. thats the primary french army rifle..

lots of countries bought the AUG...

Im not much of a fan of any bullpup though..

Yes. Steyr AUGs seemed to get most of their traction in the French armed forces.

You're thinking of the FAMAS. 40 nations or so bought the AUG, it is still Australia's service rifle along with a bunch of smaller countries.

Ah yes--the 1960's whorehouse school of gunsmithing! Watch out, Buckstix might buy it....

And...for all the beautiful work they do in Ferlach, they would also let you order something like that as well. Usually just one or two traits on one gun, though. This one has all the bad traits that will fit on one stock!

You're right!

Ugly cousins it appears.

Great gun mechanically, in spite of my deep hatred for bullpups. I shot them a bit in northern Africa at my old job and was impressed with it (for a bullpup).

No consideration for aesthetics was given.

This reminds me of something out of a Mad Max movie. Or maybe Transformers. It can turn into a toaster oven or something like that. All for the low low price of $3K!
Leupold should sue them for putting their scope on THAT rifle!...

This one might offend a few, but I think the Sharps Rifle is a "Beer Goggles" gun. It looks okay if you're drunk or squinting. Then you look at a Gibbs Farquarson and you realize just how fugly a Sharps is.

Same same...

I found them to be well designed, very reliable, accurate, etc..

and still hated it lol..

Never shot the FAMAS.. and never shot the Brit bullpup (SA80)... but.. I have to believe they both suck far more than the AUG and I would hate them even more lol..

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
