That is possibly my favorite rifle on the planet.Hopefully I can post this but if it gets deleted look up Phil Shoemaker's Old Ugly bear rifle. I love it.

You're talking about the Shootist Holiday in Raton? Some of my friends started that many years ago. That is possibly my favorite rifle on the planet.
Phil is my buddy, I see him every year at a get-together we have in New Mexico. I have shot that gun out to 440 yards...it is certainly ugly, but pretty in it's own way. Everything was done out of necessity, with hand tools, by candlelight...it is the epitome of function and improvisation.
I can tell you $10,000 cash will not get Phil to hand it over. He is a such a nice guy, and man talk about some crazy stories from the bush in Alaska...he is a national treasure.
Yep, last year was the 40th.You're talking about the Shootist Holiday in Raton? Some of my friends started that many years ago.

That’s an old Lee, but not sure if it’s a Mk1 Mk3 or No4 caliber most likely 303 but some were issued in 7.62.Not my rifle but belonged to the ranger we had in Zimbabwe for the safari. Not sure what caliber it is but has seen better days….

Is that a Winslow Arms rifle? It is so over the top I'd actually buy one just because. I'm not keen on the inlays but the rest has a SoCal cool about it.
Looks like a MK4 .303 that’s been given the Rhodesian bubba treatment. Not my rifle but belonged to the ranger we had in Zimbabwe for the safari. Not sure what caliber it is but has seen better days….

I dont think there's ANYTHING ugly about that rifle...
I think this is one of my Ugliest not counting the many many “Sporterized” Lee Enfields I have in multiple safes.
It’s an English Sporter in 8x50R by Woodward on a Mannlicher M88.

I also near bought this, mainly to get it to one of our forum members in Africa, it’s a Brno ZKK 600 in 7x57mm, it was very cheap & I had a stock for it.

My .375 Holland & Holland Magnum Remington Model 700 Kevlar Stock Custom (with M16 extractor fitted to it). Not ugly by any means… but it’s just that I much prefer the classic style look of walnut wooden stocks with fine graining.
A fine serviceable rifle, thoroughly to be relied upon (it was a gift from my loving son-in-law). Even more so, after I had McBride’s Gun Works replace the flimsy sheet metal factory extractor with the aforementioned M16 extractor. And in excellent condition. I can’t complain about it, although I do wish that it was a Mauser Model 98 Magnum Diplomat.
Hopefully I can post this but if it gets deleted look up Phil Shoemaker's Old Ugly bear rifle. I love it.

You mean other than being a 243?I dont think there's ANYTHING ugly about that rifle...
Yes, it's a Winslow haha. I would never want one, but for some reason I am glad they exist. Is that a Winslow Arms rifle? It is so over the top I'd actually buy one just because. I'm not keen on the inlays but the rest has a SoCal cool about it.
